I actually kinda inspect the room a bit, turn on both TV's and the a/c, etc. Nothin' sucks more than to get all your stuff put away and then find out something that requires asking to change rooms. Once I'm satisfied everything's on the up and up, I make a drink as I unpack and head downstairs.

I usually head to the sports book to place some action on my team if they are playing that night.

If it's summer or even remotely warm, I unpack my bathing suit and head down to the pool. I am usually at the pool, cocktail in hand, within fifteen minutes!

As I walk into the room, I give a quick look around to make sure everything's okay. After I put down my bag, I take off my shoes, then if it's a new room type or property for me, my first stop is going to be the bathroom. I tend to evaluate the room primarily based on the niceness of the bathroom, the fixtures, the shower especially.

At this point, I'll return to my bags and may unpack some of it, depending on what I need. Usually my first priority is to get the bag out of the way, and to lay out my clothes for the night. If there's anything to iron, I iron it - otherwise, it comes with me to the bathroom to get steamed.

I turn on the shower and wait for it to get extremely hot. It's been a long travel day, and I need to clear my mind of the hassles of the ratrace. I'm here! It's time to let all of that go. I close my eyes and let the steam and hot water cover my face. I visualize my night and let everything go.

After I dry off, I get dressed, equip myself with whatever I need for a complete night. Time to go!

I usually can't drop my bag off in the room fast enough before I start gambling. I think my record in 6 trips is about 15 minutes before I start throwing down money. Drinking is a very close second though

I check out the room to make sure everything works o.k. before unpacking.

After I'm satisfied I start getting ready to head down to the casino.

I put on my "I'm so cool" face and slowly saunter down the hallway to the elevators, trying to hide the excitement I feel inside. My daily bankroll is in my front pocket, my players card in my wallet.

I maintain my suave and sophisticated demeaner all the way down to the casino floor.

The elevator doors open, I hear the sounds of the slots, the yelling and cheering of the gamblers, the bright lights, the casino music blaring, and all of a sudden my face breaks out in a silly, shit-faced grin and I go running wildly to the nearest craps table like a fricken retard.....:goofy::woohoo::drunk:

I voted eat because that's what I plan on this trip. I'm arriving late so I'll be hungry. Then I'll gamble. If I arrive mid-day I unpack then eat.

If it's a solo trip, I unpack, check out the wifi and check out my proposed agenda. If it's an afternoon arrival, I then go down to the casino for some action until dinner time and come back to the room to chage clothes before heading out for the night.

If it's a trip with the wife, we unpack and I head downstairs for some quick action while she takes a nap. (Usually, there isn't any "action" up in the room until the end of the night.) Then, we head out for dinner and a show.

I do like the idea about checking out all of the functions of the room in case a room change is necessary. I've just caved in a couple of times after unpacking and not wanting to re-pack to make a change. Usually, nothing is serious enough to force me to change rooms, however.

I'm surprised no one picked sleep first in the poll! Maybe I'm in the minority, but I kind of like to "ease in" to my Vegas Vacations. Its been said never to gamble when tired or hungry. After a 6 hour(or more with layovers) trip I'll often unpack a little, take a nap, and eat a full meal before I gamble.

On this upcoming March trip, were supposed to get in about 12:15 local time(3:15 east coast time after what will be a long day). I don't know if I'll go to bed right away after a quick meal and start fresh in the morning, or pull an all nighter? Time will tell!

I'm with Eddie, I usually get a couple of cold ones at the little shop off the casino floor before heading to our room.
The wife unpacks and inspects, and I enjoy my beers wating for her to get ready to head down to the casino.

We have a pretty set routine if we are staying on the south strip:
    drop off the luggage
    grab a beer
walk over to hooters for wings
then i usually sneak away from the table before the food comes and say i need a cigarette so i can throw a $20 in a slot machine.

If we are staying downtown the first night:
grab in-n-out burger on the way
drop off the bags and eat the food in the room
Hit the bar for video poker and beers
