I have gone to drinking almost exclusively craft/microbrew Ales.

    my favs are:

Two Brothers - it is close by to where I live and have visited the brewpub. I routinely get there Bitter End which is Pale Ale, and Cane and Ebel red rye ale. Both are awesome!! I have also tried and like there North Wind Stout and my 2nd fav IPA, Heavy Handed IPA

Three Floyds - Again close by and have been to there brewpub. Alfa King APA Is my fav beer out there. I routinely have gotten there Wheat beer, Gumballhead. Also like(and wanna try more of) Zombie Dust . Its kind of a shame that this brewery is so close, but is routinely hard to find at liquor stores.

Stone - i get there Pale Ale very often.

Lefthand - I love there Pale Ale, Sawtooth . There offering, Milk Stout is great too. i've tried a few others, liked em, but need to drink more to recomend

Flying Dog - Snake IPA is the first IPA I really liked. They always seemed too dry to me. But I loved this one and it paved the way for me to get into others. Always cool to have Hunter S. Thompson quotes on your beer

Breckenridge - Agave Wheat excellent wheat beer. maybe my favorite! I have also had there Oatmeal Stout which is pretty thick, 2 is the max you'd want to drink, and Avalanche Ale which is god flavor but a tad light for an Ale IMO

I am kind of lucky. I go on business often to Chico, CA which gets me to the Sierra Nevada brewery often so I get good beer from the source, but I also live near San Diego, which is a craft haven. My wife had her 30th at the Stone brewery a couple years back. My favorite though?

    Oskar Blues Gubna

followed by Russian River Pliny the Elder

There are really a lot of great individuals now a days.

    A few of my current favorites . . .

    Great Divide Imperial Stout
    Avery Maharaja (Imperial IPA)
    Stone Double Bastard
Sam Adams Griffin's Bow ("Blonde Barley Wine)
    Kasteel Donker (Belgian Quad)

I don't know of any casinos where you can really get true craft/specialty beers (though you can get Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams at some).

If you want to try a great off-strip bar with a great brew selection I suggest Aces and Ales. They have VP at the bar so there's something to keep you busy while you drink, but the barkeeps/maids are really friendly and will keep you company chatting as well if you like.

If you can wait until Febuary, travelling to the Orleans; I will get up EARLY one morning pen in hand and write down the ones at the various bars. Variety of Sam Adams, Fat Tire, they had Stone (something) with a black label I recall (these are all on draft).....the bartender at the Prime Rib Loft said each bar has it's own beers and the main bar had many more.....if anyone is in the vicinity they could possibly pass on the information much earlier.

My favorite over the past few years - Cold Mountain by Highland Brewing (Asheville NC) but I also have a bit of an addiction to Matilda by Goose Island (Chicago IL)

I typically drink wine not beer but my husband is an avid home brewer, moderates a beer forum online, and I used to live in Belgium. So I've had a lot of beer:peace: My husband and I have very different beer tastes though -he loves West Coast IPAs with lots of hops (he grows his own hops too :peace:) while I prefer a malty Belgian style ale, farmhouse ale (LOVE the sours) and lambics. He brewed me a saison for my 40th birthday - brewed it in March or April 2012 and my 40th is April 2013:thumbsup: Hope it's good!!!! It should be pretty sour:ssst:

One of my favorite beers is also a local beer for me, Bluepoint Toasted Lager. I also like Brooklyn Brewery's beers. I'm not a super hoppy IPA fan or high alcohol fan. It's not that I never have one, just that I prefer moderate alcohol levels and DIPA's smell like a cat box to me. In general I like to drink local because I want to support beer diversity, but I won't drink beer I don't like. I'm a big Saison fan too and Ommegang Hennepin is local enough for me. When I go to visit and go to a place like Public House I ask what is local.

Same here, so many great beers, so little time.....I stopped home brewing about 10 years ago because the variety of craft brews available. My favorite style is Pilsner, but I will try just about anything once, twice if it tastes good.

My faves in no particular order:

    Victory Brewing Prima Pils
    Sly Fox Pikeland Pils
    Victory Brewing Yakima Glory
    Victory Brewing Festbier
    Flying Fish Octoberfish
Flying Fish Exit 16 Wild Rice Double IPA

I recently had a few Bells Kalamazoo Stout, it was exceptional.

As for Sour beers, these are an acquired taste, I had a Petrus Aged Pale last night and its not for me.

Home brewing keeps my husband out of trouble on the weekends:wink2: Plus- he pays for ingredients when he brews, but if I have to buy him beer, it comes from my grocery budget. So mercenarily, I prefer home brewing too :ssst:

The past few years, he's received a generous gift card to Total Wine from someone in my family - and loading up the cart with all sorts of new options is fun. And of course whenever we travel, he has to try whatever is local. While France isn't known for its beer, we had a fabulous time at La Cave a Bulles, a local craft beer store that was fortuitously located just down the road from our apartment!

Of course this was the row with the imports - but really they had tons of French beer, some Belgian, and a few American imports - you can see the Sierra Nevada in this shot too....

Brought a 1/6 keg for a Father's Day cook out last year, it was a major hit. However, before selecting Festbier, I had to conduct research at the Victory Brewpub with my brother in law. We each sampled 4 pints of different brews and decided on this one. Can't make a hasty decision as I'm a firm believer in conducting the proper research. I just filled my growler with Yakima Glory.

Absolutely!! I have to try everything too, even beers I'm pretty sure I won't love. Because you never know. My tastes might change or a beer might not taste the way I think it should:beer:

Is "Quadrum" the same as Abt.12 (the "quadrupel" with the blue label) or is this something different? That's pretty much my favorite beer of all time.
