I was wonder what everyone's favorite drink of choice is while gambling.

Also wanted to know other drinks to order from cw's. Im never really sure what they can get me other than beer and the standard drinks like rum and coke.

I usually test the waters to see what they will give me

If I'm in a nicer property I ask for a Glenlivit on the rocks, esp. in places in AC where I know they have it.
Or after a nice meal I love a Sambucca on the rocks.
Both of the above go well with a nice cigar.
In a beer mood, esp. at a VP bar I usually try for a Blue Moon,Stella or a Sammy if they have them on tap.
I try to patronize places where at least I know I can get a better quality drink.

At the tables, I tend to drink vodka sodas or Stoli on the rocks. If I'm at a bar playing VP, I order Aviations whenever I can get away with it; otherwise, vodka sodas or gin martinis.

I have a handful of go-to drinks that I order while playing it just depends on what time it is and what mood I'm in and if I'm hungry or not . . .

Bloody Mary, spicy with lots of olives.
    Gin and tonic.
    Hot chocolate with whipped cream.
Baileys and coffee with whipped cream.
Beer (I'll usually ask for a Sam or a Corona)

    Beer while gambling.

When I am on vacation, especially in Vegas, I tend to like an afternoon cocktail. Usually it's a martini but I've started to check out what the bar has for their specialty cocktails. Before dinner I'll have a martini sometimes. Depending on my dinner then it will be wine or beer.

I usually order beer or else vodka and gingerale or vodka and pineapple juice. My wife mainly orders either a fuzzy navel (peach schnapps and orange juice) or screwdriver (vodka and orange juice).

    A few things on this:

First, if you have a drink in mind (be it a mixed drink or a brand of beer) you can just ask. If the waitress can't do that for you then she will just say she can't bring that to you. Also not all places serve the same stuff or have the same selection of alcohol available - like with my wife she can't get a Fuzzy Navel everywhere because not all places have peach schnapps available at the bar.

Next, if you don't know the name of a certain drink but have in mind certain ingredients that would make a good drink combo then you can just list the ingredients to the waitress and if it has a name she'll let you know, otherwise she'll write them down.

On the flipside to that, if you know the name of a drink and its not an overly popular drink, or its regional, you should know whats in it in case she has never heard of it and asks whats in it.

Beyond that, some suggestions might be:

You can check bartending sites online for lists of drinks and their ingredients and see if something strikes your fancy and make a few notes of drinks you would like to try.

But on that note: when researching drinks online many of them list an actual brand of alcohol and usually on the casino floor you get whatever is coming out of the gun. IE: you might see something that says its Grey Goose Vodka with blueberry schnapps and cranberry juice called a _______. If you order that on the casino floor you will probably get just no-name brand vodka unless you are in the High Roller area.

Also, when researching drinks you have to look at how much alcohol is in it: on the casino floor they usually only serve drinks that have one or two shots of alcohol in it (though they usually don't do doubles) so if you are searching for drinks and see something that sounds amazing and its got five different shots of alcohol in it or something like that you probably won't get that on the casino floor.

Next, you can also try going to a bar in the casino and asking if they have a cocktail or martini menu. These usually won't be extensive lists of different drinks but you can usually find a few different drink ideas you can order from the waitress.

And finally you can just ask the waitress for recommendations (this also works at the bar too). In this case you might say to the waitress "I would like something fruity and sweet, made with rum... can you recommend anything?" For this the waitresses generally prefer that you just let them bring you something, but really depends on how much time they have and how busy they are; IE: if its a really busy Friday night they don't want to be standing there listing off drink names and ingredients to one customer when they have dozens of others all wanting a drink too. When the waitress brings you the drink she will usually tell you the official name so you can order more if you like it and in most cases people usually tip extra for this.

And lastly, with drinks if you are particular with certain tastes you might want to find out things like if they serve Coke or Pepsi at the bar. For some people this is important if their drink of choice is rum and Coke or whiskey and Coke and they find Pepsi too sweet or something... if thats you and its a Pepsi place then you might want to stick with something else.

Nothing is finer than having a drink (I like rum - either straight up (Captain Morgan) or with Coke and a cigar (my choice varies - but I like maduros) while gambling!.

A cigar that I had recently at my local cigar bar was a Great Lakes Monster (from Ohio). It was surprisingly a lot better than expected.

This last trip I rediscovered the joy of Southern Comfort and Coke, though I'll have a screwdriver when I don't want to be caffeinated. My wife will order grasshoppers (milk and creme de minte) which is good for your breath and your bones. :)

Mostly Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Sam Adams. If there aren't those or other 'craft' options, I'll switch it up completely and go with whiskey-ginger ales, or 7 & 7's.

Before midnight, either beer or bourbon (preferably Maker's). After midnight, vodka/Red Bull.

I'm fairly novice to the whole drinking legally scene as I'm only 21, and was in Vegas for my 21st so was my first time I could actually drink whatever I wanted, not what was just available. The whole week all I drank was gin sours, which are pretty damn good, and went over well during the summer time. Now that I have tried new things, I think my go to in Vegas will be brandy cokes, rum and coke, or the old faithful gin sours :D
