when we head into mermaids for drinks we are so entertained how the girls
almost pull each others hair to bring you the drinks.

It is because we always tip but this is the only place in vegas where where the drink girls actually compete.

not the greatest quality but quantity:beer:

a couple of us went into mermaids for a few drinks back in march. had to leave after a couple of hours because, even though the drinks aren''t the highest quality, the service was so fast that there was no way we could maintain the pace. excellent service!

Of course we then felt it was a good idea to do a six hour pai gow session at Binions.... :drunk:

I didn't play there, so I don't know about the drink service. I'll try that next time. But, what's not to love about the place? 99cent frozen bananas. 99cent hotdogs, fried Oreos, etc. Weird tropical gals in front with bizarre costumes. I love this little dump.

I also love how the place is like one room 20 feet wide x 40 feet long, but they make it look a lot bigger . . . . by making the walls mirrors.

I feel sorry for them having to wear thise big goofy looking outfits out front.

I saw one of them arguing with her boss one day over hours or whatever. She was livid.

It just struck me as funny to see that in that costume.

was drunk enough once to try the deep fried twinkie:vomit:

the fries are really good though and I saw on the health dept website that they had one of the cleanest cooking areas.

a year or so back I got a hot dog on a stick and when I got part way it was frozen. I went to the counter to get a new one and the girl bitched me out and said "you ate half of it"

one of those classic vegas moments.

ya, was in shock for a minute but then just walked away and had laughs about it to this day when I tell the story.

those nathan`s dogs are pretty good also and they are the same ones that go for five bucks on the strip.

    Yep. Very true.
I've bought 'em at the Venetian's food court before.
Tasty either way, but even tastier at 99 cents instead of $5.

EXACTLY!!! Had 2 hot dogs and a basket of fries for $4.
Now if only their quarter machines on the wall didn't pay you back in nickels, then it would be the perfect place for us slot players. :faint:
Especially with the ultra fast "call" drinks.

    Mermaids

Spent time with a friend at Mermaids last weekend (WHEEL..OF...FORTUNE!) and always a pleasure to see Gabriella. Always very quick with the drinks.

We must have made an impression because the manager (Dave) came over to me, gave me his card and said, "You are our guests today, anything you want to eat is comped.". So I thought what the hell, let's have a couple of hot dogs and some chili cheese fries and sure enough he brought them over to us. Of course this is small dollars but it was a nice gesture.

Also, I asked Ling Ling to bring me an extra spicy Bloody Mary. She asked me how spicy on a scale from 1-10 and I said 11 since I have a high tolerance for eating spicy foods. Well, this was by far the spiciest Bloody Mary I ever had...it was like fire water (back of my head was sewating for an hour afterwards). Again, a great time at Mermaids!

Mermaids is my favourite place donwtown to hang out if I have a few hours to kill. You can get pretty messed up on the drinks and you meet lots of interesting folk in there.

The first time in Mermaids, my small group, we sat down at some slots and quickly got brought a drink ordered (rum and coke), a second CW comes by order another rum and coke, barely get the first drink a third CW comes by and insists she gets us a drink too, so within a few minutes I have a rum and coke and stacked two deep by the slot machine, the first one comes back we say we have drinks stacked deep we're fine, "Oh I'll just go ahead and bring you some shots", so shots start coming from all these CW. I don't think we were in there more than 45 minutes tops, probably only had 10 minutes to actually play the slots too busy dealing with drinks from all sides, and I said to the group we have to leave or I think I will get alcohol poisoning, and I AM FROM WISCONSIN, it was intense. ON MERMAIDS ON WISCONSIN.
