Hey all, wondering if anyone could tell me what kind if crowd I could expect at the Mirage? I've never stayed there, and was thinking about trying it out this weekend if I can swing things at work...

I love Mirage, but the crowd is sort of hard to articulate. There's very little spillover from the nightclub crowd, because 1OAK is off to the far side past the registration desk, so you can get right from the main entrance to the club without passing through the casino. As far as gambling, I find it to be very hit-or-miss; there are some nights when it's busy, and others where there's only one active craps table and everything else is dead. When there's gambling, it tends to be older and/or fairly serious gamblers, as opposed to younger people who are just trying things out (whether you like that or not is up to you; personally, I like a more lively crowd, especially when I'm playing craps). I'd say it's worth a shot, and the restaurants are very good -- Stack is one of my favorites in Vegas.

An interesting question and a good response. Mirage is no longer the top property on the strip, as it arguably was from 1989-1998, but it is not really a bargain option either and is still quite nice in some respects.

I think most of their clients are "serious gamblers" who loved the place in the 90s and/or mlifers who are looking to make their play go farther comp wise. In either case Mirage is a good choice, and you are going to find a lot of people 40-60 in the casino who are not new to Vegas. LOVE also has more of a middle aged target audience. They still have some of their original dealers which can add a very old school vibe if you encounter them.

Mirage is also a very good option for someone who wants a good deal on a large suite--their Tower suites are 1100 sq feet, well appointed, and often available for very attractive prices.
