    Total Rewards visa

I just received a letter from Bank of America stating that in March 2013 they will be ending their relationship with Caesars Total Rewards program. Has anyone heard if CET will be signing up a new visa card program. Using my TR visa is how I kept my points alive between trips. I couldn't find anything on the TR website.

That sucks. I use it too just to keep points alive. Guess I'll have to use the TR Marketplace once every 6 months to keep them alive.

Bad news. I use my visa a lot. People disagree with me, but I believe it gets me free room offers.

Got my letter today too. Nice thing is my balance is low. Good bye BoA....Will be using my SW chase card exclusively now. Will have to make sure I eat up any CET points on my next trip.

My daughter normally uses this card at college for her expenses. Helps me keep it active etc. But I think I'll just shift her to my SW Airlines card instead and cancel the CET one once it is paid off.

At least with the online shopping we have one way to keep things active. For me it's about a 5.5 hr drive to the nearest CET casino.

jgates: Thanks for bringing up the online shopping idea. I had never explored this, and now I could kick myself as I've done a fair amount on online shopping at stores that participate, but not through TR Marketplace. Not that 1 pt per $ spent would have added to much, but at least now I know an easy way to keep points alive. Thanks.

Just received a letter from Bank of American stating they are discontinuing their relationship with CET as of March 2013. Said all cardholders are being switched to a Power Rewards Signature Visa. Since the TR connection was the only reason I had the card, hubby & I will be closing ours.... too bad for folks that do not live near a casino. I know many used this to keep their comps active. ):

remember you can aways log on to total reward and shop through the market place to keep active :) I don't have a visa with TR but I go through the market place whenever I purchase online...isn't that you just need to get 1RC to keep them all active within 6 months?

Caesar's Total Rewards Visa is being discontinued

I received a notice today from B of A that the Caesar's Total Rewards Visa is being discontinued as of March 2013.

According to the letter you will not lose your TR points for your purchases until the change over in March 2013. The letter goes on to say that B of A will issue a "Travel Rewards" in place of the Total Rewards Visa and will be giving 1.5 travel points per dollar spent on anything, what ever that means.

I am ok with them ending the Caesar's Visa as I am only 30 miles away from a Harrahs casino so I can keep my points balance by going there once every 6 months, but this does suck for those who do not have a local Caesar's casino.

This DOES stink! We can't usually get there every six months, living in Iowa and working fulltime, so the card was really helpful for us. Looks as if I'll be cancelling that card unless these "travel points" are awesome. :(

I have no evidence on this either, but I share your belief that it helps with offers. Also, I have a feeling that it helped getting upgrades at the front desk when checking in. Any time you use a branded card at the branded location it shows loyalty to the brand, and that can't hurt getting any extras that can be given out.

I will miss the TR Visa. I used it for my gas purchases, groceries, and Walmart. It helped with the total comps I have available when visiting CET properties.

Ugh just got my letter. I wouldn't be so bummed if I didn't get my card like 3 DAYS AGO. What a waste. I guess it'll now be for it's intended use "emergencies" haha.

Oh well, now I can continue to stay at MGM properties which I much prefer, without the guilt haha.:evillaugh

It says on the back of the letter that "rewards" start at 2500 points and travel starts at 15,000. I guess as long as there is no annual fee I'll keep it, but I didn't want an airline card because I don't spend enough to really ever earn anything, and 90% of my travel is to Vegas!

    TR Credit Card Ending....

Just got my mail and found a notice from Bank of America stating they are ending their partnership with Ceasar's Total Rewards Program.

As of March, I will not have a TR Credit Card - it will roll over to something else, not associated with CET.

Not a big deal to me, but was wondering if anyone heard of the change or if CET was transferring the program to another card issuer??

I believe I used to get 1 TR point for every $1 spent. Came in useful, because I have a ton of Reward's Credits that I like to keep active, and I've swore off going into a CET property for the time being!!! Guess I might have to go burn through them.

Hopefully they will affiliate with a different bank.

The whole reason I haven't gotten one of those cards is because I can't stand BOA.

    BOA is the devil. :wink2:
