After much deliberating, I decided to retire for the second time in my life, lol. What used to be a part-time job turned into 40 hours a week (sometimes more), and I'm totally exhausted. So I gave two-weeks' notice, and yesterday was my last day at Aliante. Now I just need to find something to do with all my spare time. :)

    Congratulations!
I retired the first time 5 years ago and have no desire to work again!

Although I did work for the Census Bureau in 2009 for 6 weeks. Not for the money, but it helped me learn about so many different neighborhoods in Las Vegas that I would not have seen otherwise, including yours. I spent a lot of days wandering around NLV, Aliante area.

Congratulations. I retired for the second time in August of this year, and am enjoying not working anymore. Same as you, I was just worn out from work.

When my grandmother retired for the second time, she took a position at as a foster grandparent at a local school. She's kind of like a room mother in a pre-K classroom. It can wear her out at times but she's scared to do nothing.

Congrats! I am 55 and would love to retire early. But alas, I think I still got at least 10 years to go. I am not sure what you are looking for but when I lived/worked in Las Vegas back in 90's, I had several volunteers at the library where I worked who would just show up once or twice a week and shelve some books for me. Worked great for me as we always had fiction books to shelve and they enjoyed getting out.

I retired in 2004 and have not regretted it for one second. I live on SS, a small pension and the money that I and the company put into a 401K. The last six years have been the happiest in my life.

    Congrats

    Congrats Sue

Now time for you to find a Quiet, tropical Island to relax at.

No noise, except the surf & especially no slot/casino Ring, ding, ding!

Maybe a steel drum, in the background + Palm trees?

Congrats Sue. I've been retired for a couple of years and my best advice is to find a couple of hobbies that you are really passionate about and can pursue to the nth degree now that you have the time..... Hope you have a wonderful retirement:beer:

    CONGRATS!!!! ENJOY!

I was going to retire by 50 (I'm 48 now), But The stock market of 1986, 2001 and 2008 pushed it back at least 5 yrs.

Good on ya, Sue. Still so sorry Dave's not there to share it with you. Guess you can get even more frequent flyer miles 'tween McCarran and O'Hare.

Guess it's time for you to write that book!!

No, I won't be writing a book, Ken. I am, however, available for proofreading/editing jobs. That's my real forte. :)

Congratulations to all! My father is retired and now does the fifth-wheel RV adventuring.

I'm jealous of you all. :nworthy: I still have a good 15 years left, but hope to make it to retirement by 55.

Enjoy retirement! It's what you worked so hard for!
