We are staying at the Luxor in January for a conference - looking for your best places to eat down in that area.... We would like to get some reservations made ASAP. Looking for one REALLY nice place... this is my hubbys 1st trip to Vegas and my 2nd...

    Thanks much in Advance :)

The only restaurant I've eaten at (that's still open) around the Luxor is Tacos & Tequila. It's actually in the Luxor. Second level, over looking the lobby. I think it's a really nice place. Good food. I ate there in April.

I really like Tacos and Tequila. But if you're looking for a nicer, fine dining type place (which is what I assumed from the question), I would try Auerole at Mandalay Bay. It's next door and has excellent food and wine

Yes, Aureole or RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay for nicer dining options near Luxor.

For steak, Charlie Palmer at Four Seasons is yummy. Also, Tender at Luxor is pretty good for its price point.

Tacos & tequila is ok but Aureole was better. Not exactly comparing apples to apples there though, on price point or menu. R.com certificates have been available for both in the past - I ate at both places using the cert

Personally pick Hussongs over T&T but either one is good, RiRa in the Mandalay Shops is really good pub food, Tender for Steak, RM for Seafood, Rice and Co for sushi. too many options to not find something. Far as Really nice Aureole, Mix, Charlie Palmers or Tender or go for the Foundation Room nice and totally different than any of the rest with the best view of the Strip there is IMO.

I tried Fleur at Mandalay last year. Food was excellent and not too bad pricewise for lunch.
Wolfgang puck at MGM.... they hav really good brick oven pizzas(especially the meatball pizza).... and service is top notch.
And my favorite place for a great steak... Smith and Wollenskys steakhouse. 1 block up past MGM just before the Wallgreens. Nice in house dry aged steaks and awesome shellfish platter especially for $35 a person. And they are open a little later than most Hotel steakhouses.

Yes, T&T at the Luxor is my favorite place in vegas!!! Charlie Palmer @ Four Seasons is a good choice for a nice dinner and they also do a weekly food and wine special that is awesome. Its called the "cut of the week" and it changes each week. Here is a link to this weeks just so you can get an idea. http://www.charliepalmer.com/Properties/CPSteak/LasVegas/Menu/?MenuId=512

RM Seafood at Mandalay Place is awesome. If you like Key Lime pie, make sure to order it. I can't remember the name, but there is also a fantastic, more casual Mexican restaurant near RM.

Whatever you do, don't eat in the buffet at Luxor. It's horrible.

If you like Mexican... Border Grill at Mandalay Bay is more upscale and has a nicer atmosphere; you can eat overlooking the pool if you like. Good food. T&T at Luxor has a more basic bar/grill atmosphere and decent food, but have had sloooooooow service there. Haven't tried Hussongs - their inconsistent reviews don't inspire much confidence.

I'd suggest Wolfgang Puck's Trattoria del Lupo in Mandalay Bay for Italian near Luxor.
