But just cancelled our reservation after we found out they had already taken some of their machines out and it's only early December. By the time we get there early January we figured they wouldn't have too much left even though they technically don't close till February.

Anyone have any suggestions for something similar? We liked the fact that Bills was a smaller hotel, conveniently located on the strip. I'm fine without anything fancy, but clean is a requirement.

We definitely want to be on the strip with a casino in the hotel. We'd prefer not one of the mega resorts either. Any suggestions?

How about trying Bally's. It is smaller, the staff is really nice & helpful and the rooms are some of the largest. Everything is easy to get to but would suggest avoiding the main from entrance since the people movers are down so much of the time. We usually go out thru Paris or on the side down to Flamingo. Good luck!

I was going to suggest Bally's too. Or Flamingo could be a good choice. I was in a Flamingo room in October after years and I was surprised that the room, although pink, was clean and well appointed.

I ended up booking a Flamingo GO room with a strip view. Will actually be nice to be somewhere new although it seems that parking will be a pain. Dh will probably just end up using the valet instead of trying to self park though.

Can't wait to go! About 5 weeks out.

I really don't think the parking garage there is really bad, it's easy to get into and out of. I always valet there (and pretty much everywhere except Paris), it's just easier. The valet staff there has ALWAYS been quick and very very nice. I don't think you will be disappointed with your GO room! There is a coffee maker, a safe and I like the bathrooms in the Go rooms. Hope you have an amazing trip

So sad that Bill's is closing, even temporarily. One of my favorite spots to drop into, and its the best little oasis from the heat when trecking by Flamingo and about to head over to the Ballys side

Staying there starting this Saturday and have many times (Flamingo). You will enjoy it and it is not that much more of a hike to get out on the strip than Bill's. The parkign garage is also easy access as far as I am concerned (parked there for mid-strip access last time we stayed downtown at teh Golden Nugget). I too hate to see Bill's (Barbary Coast) closed for any period of time ... last time out watched David Arquette sing karoake there - an "Only in Vegas" moment indeed!

Well this is great! We're booked for 5 nights on 3/6-3/10! I just called them and was given another number to call. I can't believe they would not call those of us with confirmed reservations?! I called it and left a message, I'm supposed to be called back within 24 hours. Do any of you in the know have any idea what Bill's plan was? To shuffle us off to the IP? Sorry for the rant on my first post here but DAMN!
