Just a couple of things to report from MSS.

They are switching to Cox Cable and our room had HDTV. Also they have added a few channels to the rooms. We don't watch much TV in the room, but ESPN in HD is nice in the morning.

According to one employee, there will be WiFi in the rooms when the change over to Cox is complete, but nobody could tell me if it will be free. You can currently buy it for $9.99 per day, but that is from an outside provider.

New menu coming for the 777 Brew Pub. Depending on who you ask, it is going to start on Thanksgiving; or before Christmas; or the first of the year.:confused2:

First the switch from Coke to Pepsi, now 'fixing' the 777?

We're looking forward to some new items. We've had everything on the old menu, twice over, in the last 12+ years.

Let me just say it was an ugly trip.
Got in on Friday afternoon, played on #1 & 2 until about 2 AM. I got 1 4oak and my wife got zero. We dug a very deep hole that we never climbed out of.

Jose is doing well. We did a couple of high fives over something that happened the first week of November.:poke:

    Didn't run into Brad.

    Update

Just got an email back from management...

They are hoping the new 777 menu starts Dec 1.

All the flat panels in the 777 will be in HD.

There will be Cox WiFi in the rooms, but the cost will be $9.95 per day.

Hd will be a nice change. Will be staying there in Jan and will check out the new menu. The cynic in me thinks it will be the same food with new names and higher prices.

I will be at the MSS on....11/30. Might be able to check out the old AND the new 777 menu.

Like I always say, "New Menu...New Prices."

It's still a work in progress, so I'm not sure how many rooms have HD so far. Ours did and were on the 14th floor. When we were there, parts of the employee parking lot were torn up and 5 Cox trucks were out there everyday.

I have not seen Brad working at the main bar the last 3 times I've been there. He did wait on me at the 777 in Sept. and said he works a lot of their special events, etc.

It sounds like MSS is catching up to the Fremont, which recently got HDTV and wireless Internet in their rooms. BIG IMPROVEMENT! Also, based on a post I read a few weeks ago, I requested and received a coffee maker and supplies. I forget to make the request when checking in, but a quick call down to the desk was all it took. Unlike what I had read, I didn't need to remain in the room until it arrived, and was told simply not to put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. It was there when I returned several hours later. Little things mean a lot!

Odd. My wife doesn't like the new, thick pillows MSS now has, so each trip I call down to housekeeping for the older, thinner ones. We took off the DND sign and left. I forgot something in the room and headed back up. I got off the elevator at the same time the person from housekeeping was delivering our request. I asked if we weren't there, would he have put them inside the room. He replied he doesn't have room keys, only the maids do.:confused2:

Will be staying at MSS in Jan for a slot tourny at the Cal. The improvments sound nice. Is there a place to get coffees at MSS in the am or will I have to go to Lappert's?

If you have a lot of points, consider using them to get coffee at Lapperts, cuz you get the discount.

You can always use your points at the casino bar also, so your $1.50 coffee costs 90 cents in points, with the 40% discount. But really is it worth the trouble?
