I try to go one night per trip and would like to have a good vibe and big crowds

    Is thursday a decent night?

I could also go mon/tues/wed but it must be pretty dead

Saturday is also an option but with the big fight at MGM i would like to experience big strip crowd too so thats a tough choice

fri/sun already booked with big concerts

we usually stay downtown now when we go to vegas and during the week the evenings are crowded and weekends are insanely crowded but a ton of fun.any night of the week is far from dead.

Any day at ghe FSE is fun, but there are more concerts and light shows and they go later into the night on Fri and Sat. The crowds are also bigger, so based on your criteria I'd pick Saturday. If you like live music then check the entertainment schedule to see what bands are playing each night. Search youtube to learn about bands you don't know and use that as the deciding point. If the light show and the bands don't interest you that much, then go Thursday so you can catch the mid week happy hours.

If you like country music, I would go Wednesday night (Dec 5th). This is the kickoff to the NFR (National Finals Rodeo) and there will be free concerts on Fremont. It will be a busy night.

If not Rok of ages/spazmatics are playing tuesday sounds like an 80's party to me

The Spazmatics are fantastic! I just did a writeup of them, including some video from their show, last week on my blog. I saw three of their shows on my last (10days, thanks Sandy!) trip. Rok of Ages puts on a good show as well. If you like 80's music, then get down there on Tuesday!
Added bonus: If you like Fremont as much as I do this will give you more chances to get back down there this trip (thu, sat) ;)

I agree that weekends have more going on but the crowds are bigger too. Really, any night is a great time to go.

I was down there this past week to pick up some souvenirs at the old Pioneer casino before I flew out. Being down there at night and in the middle of the day is the biggest contrast I have ever seen anywhere. Hundreds if not thousands at night, to maybe 50 people around noon. Place is almost weird during the daytime.

YBR recently agreed to play the 3rd St stage on Thursdays 7p-10p. They also play Southpoint on Friday's and Texas Station on Saturdays.

They cover rock from all decades. They even do a mean "Spirit of the Radio\Tom Sawyer" by Rush.

YBR is also worth seeing! They specialize in arena rock and they are polished! The change of frontman has hardly slowed them down. Still a great take! I hope they are still doing Fremont in February!
