Stayed over on comp, wasnt going to stay there after how dirty it was last time but Mrs. said lets give it another shot. Have to say we were pleasantly surprised, room in Marina Tower was clean and looked to have been remodled.
Nice view, large flatscreen ,all in all good. Guy who had the room night before left his nice leather coat in closet so I turned it in at hotel desk,in cool weather how do you go home w/o your coat?
Hard to say about the crowd numbers ,there were people there at least.
Walked over to GN for free buffet and won a few bucks at VP bar, back to Harrahs, played till about 1am then bagged it for night.Had the usual great time with Franco the bartender at the Xibition Bar,another free buffet at GN on the way home Sat AM .Sat afternoon and evening, strictly on coach watching football, recooperation day.

Sounds like a nice little trip.

Is all of AC open after Sandy hit?

All hotels are up and running

Casinos suffered no real damage other than financial losses.Construction already started on Margaritaville complex that will extend out on a pier in front of Resorts.

Hey Jerseyguy, We went down Friday night too

We stay at the showboat…. We may not stay there anymore

First room they put us in was in the Orleans tower and not a deluxe room…. we opened the door and it had no pillows and no light bulbs in any of the lamps
Hubby went back to the front desk where they tried to say that it WAS a deluxe room and basically intimated that we were lucky to get a room at all (why? Because it’s a comp? Please!)

We had to settle for two queen beds in the bourbon tower

We like the bourbon tower but two queens? C’mon!

An un-named employee took my husband aside and told him “I like you… you and your wife are nice people… take it from me, don’t stay here anymore. Then went on to tell him that they had a bed bug problem in the Orleans tower
    (lovely, huh?)

It’s a shame because we always have fun at the Showboat, (we have a favorite bartender back in the HOB bar… Judy, she’s a doll)

We both stuck to slots this weekend, Friday night I did terrible, Saturday earned back what I lost on Friday night and then some…
The mister did VERY well on Friday night,

We had a FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC meal at Dock’s Oyster House (I probably sound like I’m schilling for them, we’re there so much, but they do always have awesome food and excellent service)
His slot wins basically paid for our meal… (I love it when that happens!)

I took some of my comp dollars to the spa and got a mani/pedi on Saturday afternoon, we were going to use them toward dinner at one of the casino restaurants, but figured what the hell…. We’ll pay for dinner somewhere that we KNOW Is good and use the comps for a little pampering of ourselves!

I liked the buffet at Showboat, but dont gamble there much.

As for the coat, why didnt you keep it? How do you know the front desk will turn it in, not keep it, or the man will be back for it. Perhaps he was from Paris, so he aint coming back for it; and no one is mailing it to him. You should've donated it to victims of Sandy.

Now, if a real nice camera, or cash, or diamonds, or his wife were left behind, I would not turn it in.

Showboat front desk was rude to me to, downgrading my comped room. But ballys does the sme thing all the time. Even though it was my fav property out of both ac and vegas. Ballys just downgraded people a lot without being rude about it. Nevertheless it gets fairly annoying. And I can barely win at harrahs or ceasers. So I have neglected the ac market pretty much.

Just came back from a Thanksgiving stay at Borgata...except for a fence down on the beach, there was no visible damage from the hurricane. The new Revel casino is really nice (it reminded me a lot of the Aria casino) and I loved that it was smoke free.

As for Harrah's - if there was a guest's coat still hanging in the closet from the previous stay, I would question the cleanliness of the room - housekeeping could not have done all that good of a job cleaning it and getting it ready for the next guest to check in. You did the right thing by turning that coat in - it's good to know that there are still some honest, moral people left in the world.

Showboat front desk acts like it’s their JOB to make sure you get the worst room possible, I don’t know why even when we have paid for room on weekends in the summer, we’ve been bumped down

Go figure, you check in on a Saturday and they tell you that Friday gamblers extended their stays, so we have to bump you down

Then check in on a Friday and we’re told that we can’t have that room for two nights, because they have too many people who reserved those rooms for Saturday check in

Please! I never win at Harrah’s or Caesars either

We got bumped at Bally’s one time to the old Claridge tower, not knowing any better, thinking that the “deluxe” room with a Jacuzzi would be cool… it was a DUMP! Stains on the lamp shades, holes in the upholstery and duct tape over the little window in the bathroom… but we were “lucky” to even get that?

hotel rooms in ac-----all casinos-----unless you flash some cash you will get the bottom of the pile---the better rooms are given to "cash" customers-------this is regardless if you get a comp or pay----now if you are a High Roller and have a host, different story-----i'm talking average person-----the check-in employees do not make much and count on tips---
