I'm heading to LV in a few weeks and want to know where the best sportsbooks are. Anything that makes one stand out from the rest?

Is there anywhere to practice on the Internet before plunking down my $$?

Where are you staying. There are good and bad everywhere, but where you are will make all the difference. You do not need to travel all over Vegas for a sportsbook.

If you are downtown, the Nugget is your only option. If you are on the Strip, there are many nice ones, with Bellagio among the best (free drinks, dude).

I do not know what you mean about practice, but if you go to sports.yahoo.com, the odds for each sport are posted. You can make your own log and practice against the spread off of that if you want. I am sure a Google search will yield a free fake sportsbook that will log winnings and losings for you. I do not know any off the top of my head.

Keep in mind, the bigger the event, the fuller the sportsbooks. Be sure to go early if you are planning to go for March Madness, the Super Bowl or even the NFL playoffs.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the sportsbook suggestions. I plan on staying on the strip so I will check out the Bellagio first, then snoop around to a few others.

I found a couple of sportsbook simulation sites on the internet - bigguy.com and sportplayz.com. Ever use either of these?

freesportsbet.com is a site I use to "practice" my handicapping skills (when I have the time)

be sure to shop around for odds. You don't have to watch the games where you bet.
There can be a difference sometimes between the Caesars/MGM/Cantor lines.

esp on futures, I wanted to bet the Bears to win the SB when I was there this summer, Flamingo had them 8 or 10 to 1 (can't remember which), I walked down to Venetian and got 15/1.
