Mirage or TI in February

Looks like we are trying to stay in either TI or Mirage on a Bachelor Party in February. Wondering everyones thoughts on the 2 properties or other suggestions. This group of guys has been to vegas a few times. We have stayed at NYNY, PH, Monte Carlo, MGM and Harrahs and wanted to try something different. We are Mid 20's like to have a good time but not big club people. Mid Income group so we have a little money to spend but not unlimted. Any suggestions would be amazing. Also looking not to spend to much on a room so we have more for strippers and cocain! lol jk

 

I haven't stayed in either but we're booked in TI (petite suite) in February for a business trip. Normally our trade show is at MBay and we stay at the south end of the Strip, but this year we'll be at Sands. And since I hate Venetian, and Wynn is a little rich for my blood (not that I wouldn't love it) we decided to try TI. Esp since they have fridges in all the rooms - a necessity for me (and we paid $30 a day for it at THEHotel last time)

Some board members stayed there last month and reported the rooms were in great shape (semi-recent renos?) and the price we have is pretty good, so I'm looking forward to it

 

If I could vote for The Mirage 100x I would. Nicer hotel and casino.

I just am not a big fan of TI. The atmosphere there is too.... "country" for me. Although there are some scantily clad dealer ladies at TI, which might be good for a bachelor party.

I'd still say Mirage in a heartbeat.

I have stayed at both the Mirage and TI several times, almost always on a comp, so initial price doesn't factor much.

In pool weather, no doubt Mirage wins. Not just for the obvious fact that Mirage has the nicer pool, but there is more eye candy as well, as the better looking folks seem to appreciate the pool too.

From October-March, I could go either way. I'm sure you know, both properties are connected by a tram, and are literally next to each other on the strip.

At TI, there are more less expensive places to eat, but the buffet is horrible. Mirage restaurants are better, and accordingly more expensive. TI is opening more/newer restaurants, and the Sr. Frogs seemed pretty lively last time I was there.

I like the sports book better at the Mirage, bigger bar area, more tables, etc. The sports book at the TI is kind of in the back of the hotel/casino.

I think there are more $10 blackjack games at TI than Mirage, if you play at the $50/hand level, often the high limit room at the TI will have a $50 blackjack table, meaning they will comp all the top shelf liquor (Johnny Walker Blue for example). Same table at the Mirage is $100/hand.

There always seemed to be more people/energy at Mirage as well.

Now comes the cost part:
Even with comped rooms, the amount of comp taken for the room impacts what food/beverage you can have taken off. Rooms at the TI seem to consume half the comps that rooms at the Mirage, so its easier to get tickets/food/drinks taken off at TI.

I find TI to be the good winter value play, and the rest of the year I like the Mirage (or Bellagio/Wynn/Skylofts if my wife is coming along).

All depends if you want check-in to be 20 minutes (Mirage) or 120 minutes and some nasty attitude when you're finally at the counter (guess which).

 

Well, I've had that at Luxor & PHo, so.....:evillaugh Luck of the draw. Though, yours is the first time I've seen that specific report of TI.

 

My final stay at T.I. was so blatantly poor that I've vowed never to stay there again. The week was shared between there and Mirage, and the contrast in service was nothing short of shocking. This was about 6 months after MGM sold T.I. to it's current owner. The staffing cutbacks were extremely obvious, the remaining staff were overworked and surly, and housekeeping was nearly nonexistent. I found empty water bottles under the desk, hair pins in the carpet fibers, a bandage in the bathroom and a beer can under my bed. This was upon arrival.

Since you're going in February, the pool scene isn't a factor, so I would take Mirage over T.I. in a heartbeat. Better eating & drinking choices as well plus an over all better casino vibe & atmosphere.

 

I'd go with Mirage. I haven't stayed at TI, but our stay at the Mirage this past June was awesome! I used to stay at NYNY every time, but I'll now be staying at the Mirage.

 

I agree. To me its not even an isue.

 

I've stayed at both. It's Mirage, and it's not close. Especially for the age group that you're talking about.
