We went to MB in September and my travel pal has a host with offers for comped rooms, freeplay, etc; however, we are also looking at Golden Nugget for a different experience and have found a great deal BUT we don't have a history at GN. It has great reviews, and everyone says their gambling dollar goes further Downtown.

What do y'all think? Stick with tried'n'true or a new adventure?

I would rather be at the end of the strip than downtown... but that's what this is going to come to. MB is a much larger (and nicer, IMO) property with more restaurants, shopping, gaming, and things to do. If you like being downtown and want to experience it in one of the nicer downtown resorts, GN is the place to be. Probably will be fine in either spot, just depends on your preference of location.

Agree with TRN Mandalay Bay is a much better hotel easy choice!

I love Mandalay Bay, but be aware that they're in the middle of a big revamp of their restaurant offerings; Shanghai Lily, Red Square, Red White & Blue, and China Grill all are closed or closing shortly, and they're in the midst of putting a new nightclub in the old Rumjungle space. Mandalay was my go-to place, but I'm taking a break for a couple months until things start opening back up.

EDIT: I'd still take Mandalay Bay over Golden Nugget, though.

MB it is then, maybe we'll make a special trip to DT and see if we like the vibe. Thanks!

Have fun! If you happen to visit any of the new restaurants (assuming there open) please post reviews
