Quite a few people will be in Vegas over the holidays. Will you be there on Christmas? Potential place of meeting?

My wife and I had spent the past few xmas / new years in LV and I expect this year to be no different.

Last year my brother and I were downtown and couldn't for the life of us figure out why everything was closed...duh...it was Xmas. You can see how much we love the holiday.

Are you proposing something fancy. Last year we ate at Rio buffet for brunch (I imagine everyone will be doing some sort of jacked up price holiday brunch) and it was good. I think this year we might do Wynn or Caesars but that may all depend on where we are staying.

All that to say I'm open to meeting anywhere.

Great ideas dune bug. This will be my first vegas christmas! I am surprised to learn that places downtown are closed that day. I am a big fan of rio buffet and I intended to try wynn or caesars this holiday. I tend to be a little indecisive so anywhere is fine by me. Except I have not had a good experience with hash house. A meetup would be wonderful nevertheless!

Ms. Gecko and I often spend the week before Xmas in Vegas, and just booked it yesterday. I'm not sure we've ever been there over the actual holiday, however, and this year is no exception – we leave that day. As it turns out, the airfare was significantly lower than the next day's and the streets should be empty driving home from the airport. The only thing we'll miss is a gut stuffing buffet, but hardly need to pile on additional calories at the end of a trip. Sorry we won't be there for any meet that day.

Be at THEHotel as usual for Christmas arriving the 24th through 27th, unless I take Mandalay up on a comp offer then the whole week. Pretty much open outside Christmas night dinner at Tender,

We'll be at MSS 12/21-26. Christmas is always an interesting time in Vegas.

One funny...They erect a giant tree on Fremont street with bowling ball size ornaments for trim. The morning of Dec 26th, they are taking in down. Time to move on.

Not sure what dunebug is referring to regarding closures. Every major casino is certainly open and so are most of the restaurants.

I was referring to some of the stuff down on E Fremont. Insert Coins, Heart Attack Grill, etc. I know all the casinos and casino restaurants are open. Gambling on jesus' birthday is the way he would have wanted it.

I am thinking Sugar Factory at Paris on Christmas around 9:30a/10:30aish.

Menu here http://www.sugarfactory.com/sites/default/files/SFAB%20Menu_0.pdf There's a ton of variety and breakfast items for moderate prices. Breakfast ranges from 11pm(prior evening)-1pm. A late night grubbing on Christmas Eve is an option alternatively.

    Any objections?

I guess I will check in a little closer to date to know definite confirmations and make a reservation. This should be fun!

Peppermill is another alternative that may be of interest! And the atmosphere is pretty neat in here. The lounge area is worth a look for sure for tourist purposes lol.

Lots of variety here too and prices fairly similar but breakfast is available 24 hours here so time is less a factor (though Sugar factory is 24 hours on other non-breakfast items).

Sugar Factory, Peppermill is cool and all but honestly I much prefer it at night when it is a really fun place to be at, mornings I want good food and Peppermil is like HHAGG IMO, a lot of food but just mediocre quality. Plus I have never eaten at SF so it will be the new place we have every trip.

Oh that's absolutely fine. Thanks for the heads up! I am not a fan of Hash House...Sugar factory looked more pleasant in food pictures online anyway, though Peppermill looks like huge portions.

    Sugar Factory it is!!

    See you on Christmas!

I'm in. Still not sure when we'll actually be getting to town but it's looking like we'll be there.
