I have boasted to all my buddies at work that I plan on eating nothing but prime rib during my Christmas week stay in Las Vegas. Problem is, where can I get good PR for breakfast and lunch. Thanks for any help.

I'd check DuPar's inside Golden Gate.

Just for fun, check your lipid panel prior to the trip and upon your return.

My husband proclaimed that he would do this very thing. (He's a butcher) I was a bit concerned so I asked our family doctor about it. He said as long as you start off in good shape; blood pressure and cholesterol are normal that one week won't hurt you. He said you'd probably get nauseated from all the fat and protein before you could ingest enough to hurt you. He managed to have prime rib every day, maybe even twice a day a few times but he didn't go the whole way.

I would think most 24 hour coffee shops would serve prime rib any time of day. Check the menus of the coffee shops of the hotels you know you'll be going to and confirm. If you count a T-bone you can do steak and eggs for a midnight special or breakfast. You know, for variety.

Yeah bro. Won't pretty much any food get old eating it even two days in a row?

I love prime rib but I don't think I could eat it two days in a row let alone twice a day for week.

Eating it that much might ruin it for you forever.

I'm planning on eating the bread and side veg that comes with the PR. OK, Ok. I want to try to pull this feat of gluttony off, even though I don't see the prospect of success great. Vegas is the perfect town for this sort of irrational endulgence, so if you can help with breakfast and lunch pr recomendations, bravo. Keep in mind, your negativity will only sharpen my resolve.:nono:

I'm down with you on this plan. After all, this is Vegas. Gluttony and prime rib go hand-and-hand.
And, prime rib is an excellent food item to stuff yourself on. I have a feeling that finding a place that serves it for breakfast will be difficult, as a prime rib will not be roasted if there isn't a demand for it.
There must be turnover in the prime ribe eating process for places to offer it.

I had prime rib at the Rio buffet for dinner last year. I'm not sure if they serve it at other hours. Most buffets serve prime rib. But, this was exceptional. I asked for an end cut and watched as it was carved. I am partial to the end cut and experienced what would normally be a 30.00 to 50.00 piece of perfection in most steakhouses. Needless to say, it was the highlight of the meal.

i can certainly empathize with the desire for gluttony in Vegas, but i certainly don't share your love for prime rib. usually it's overcooked and dry. in fact i don't think i've ever had prime rib once in Vegas on any trip. but if that's your thing, good luck.

Lol! You must really like prime rib. PR for breakfast might be a challenge. All I know is that the Market St. Cafe at the Cal downtown has a PR special and my sister ordered it at 3 am. in the morning. So hopefully you might be able to order this during normal breakfast hrs.

Most likely, your PR for breakfast will be a piece that they heat up from the night before. There is just not a demand for PR in the morning to justify roasting a hunk of PR.

Even having PR for dinner every day you are in Vegas is pretty impressive. Good Luck on your quest and let us know how it pans out.

Screw the haters. Good goal, bro.

I agree that diners and coffee shops might be your best bet during the morning and afternoon. At night, you should have no problem.

Here is another idea -- stay up late, have breakfast around 2 or 3, then go to bed. Wake up around lunch time and have at it. I think you might have more luck late night than early morning.

I would join your quest in a heartbeat.

I'm with ya too, Homie! When I was in Vegas in April I told all my friends that I would make sure that I had bacon with every single meal. I held that promise pretty closely for about 4 days. Bacon-wrapped dates, bacon-wrapped scallops, hot dogs with bacon, bacon cheeseburgers, bacon with chocolate fondue . . . . you name it.

Anyway, back to your Prime mission. For lunch I recommend you hit up The M buffet at least once. They always have it, and you'll get a good choice of other stuff too, so you don't get sick of just yorkshire pudding and mashed potatoes, unless that's another component of your quest.

I agree with the others on the breakfast . . . you should call a handful of 24 hour coffee shops and cafes to find the ones that have PRime Rib.

    Good luck and Godspeed, Brother!

I think it is more generally served around supper time.
In cheaper prime ribs I have liked California Market Street Cafe (walk in an ask to eat at the counter to avoid a line) Magnolia room at the Four Queens, and the El Cortez version. I'd avoid the meat at the Gold Spike; it is terrible.
One good taste of beef is that Ellis Island special served 24/7 and I have often had that for breakfast.
They have a good prime rib as well which is 50% off using an American Casino Guide coupon.
I'm off all meats now, so the days of seeking the prime rib are over for me.

I agree completely. It's like roadkill left out in the sun. I got it twice, a year apart, and it seemed like the same plate was served to me both times. It was exactly the same. 12 ounces of warm beef jerky.

A few years ago the Station Casinos had a prime rib special 24/7 in the cafe restaurants...I had it at 4am one morning and it wasn't bad...I think the cost was $9.99 and it was better than having breakfast..

Sounds like a good goal, if anything you learn the difference between good and bad prime rib.

My companies HQ is in the south and they always claim they have the best bbq. On my last trip, I ate BBQ at every meal, it was a 4 day trip. You really learn how to tell the difference between different foods. I found it fun, although my body didn't agree with all the BBQ and I think my colon cheered when I ate veggies upon returning home.
