Hey guys on our way to Vegas. My wife's co worker gave her $100 to bet on the OU to beat Notre dame. I don't normally bet sports so help if you would. She said she just wanted them to win didn't want points but I see there favored. Is there any way to net if they win but not have it matter by how many.
Let me know what to say when I get to the window. Don't want to sound like a complete fool.
    Thanks

    It is called the moneyline.

Each team has a number to the left of it. Use that number when making the wager.

So if the # next to OU is 450, state to the sportsbook clerk "450, moneyline"

Tell them you want it on the “Money Line”.

OU is a big favorite though. So make sure the co-worker knows how that works. If you don’t give points and just bet the money line, you’re only going to win about $20-25 if you win the bet (plus the $100). Make sure they aren't expecting you to bring back $200!

Carve is correct, my on line moneyline bet on OU is currently 1.22. So for every $100 bet, she'd win $22. Plus the return of her original bet of course.

Thanks guys makes since. I'll call her and see what she wants me to do. Sounds like taking the points would be better in my opinion if she does want that what's it called? Or how do you say you want to bet on it?

Each team has a # to the left of their name. If you are going to bet the points, in this case OU is -11.5.
Walk up to the desk and say #XXX for $100. That gets you the OU point spread. Which like I said is currently -11.5.

You might even have to lay 12 to get that bet down.

With OU being that big a favorite, you really don't want to bet on them on the moneyline unless you are betting 450 to win 100. As a general rule, in a game with a high line like this most bettors would only be using the moneyline if they wanted to bet on ND...because you could bet $20 and still score a nice win if you hit...betting the longshot, so to speak.

you should use the team number next to the name of the team but if you just say Oklahoma they will know what you want
if you are betting Oklahoma just to win the game
you should say it like this

straight play,Oklahoma( or use team number) moneyline, lay 100

if you are using the pointspread say it like this
straight play,Oklahoma ( or team number) lay 100
