    . .i love going to visit the 4queens .. because ..

. .they play 80s music in the background!

, not too loud, but enough for me to enjoy while getting ripped and losing money

. .that place rocks ..golden nugget too ..but tops = 4queens, always an 80s hoot

..i also enjoy the strip, the wynn plays cool music too, i heard them play lisa loeb's "truthfully" last time i was there ..and some other stuff not too many people might be familiar with ..

    . . .so

.. favorite casino with music you like??

    .

    ..do tell

    .. $$$

They play music in casinos? Funny, but I can't remember hearing anything other than the typical casino noise.

Which is exactly another reason I'm a Hard Rock fan... there's never any doubt what song is playing! I LOVE that! Most other casinos, it's just background noise... which I'm sure is fine for most folks.

It's the loops that kill me. Get tired of the same music over and over.

Wynn/Encore has smooth jazzy classy stuff playing overhead. And the exterior of Bally's usually has fun upbeat stuff playing. It always catches my ear when coming down the escalator on the pedestrian bridge from Bill's.

The problem is when they blast crappy music or music whos style I don't care for. That ruins it for me.

A year ago El Cortez had some nice jazz piping in overhead at the craps table. This year back to same old top 40.

Mermaids has some classic rock going on last year too. This year same old crapola.

I like 80's pop or jazz, anything else is background music.

I'm waiting for the casino that features Jack Teagarden or Bix Beiderbecke. I expect to have a long, long wait.

I think pumping in the Radio Delux shows with John Pizzarelli would also be wonderful. Such a fine mix of interesting music.

Most puzzling is that the whole town is gaga nostalgic over the Rat Pack and the performers of that era, but none of it ever gets into the music of casinos except once in a while the millioneth rendition of NY NY. Fiesta Rancho years ago had a great mix of that music in the mornings, including the more obscure songs rarely heard. it was quiet there in the morning playing 10/7 DB and listening to that easy music.

Or consider that visitors have gone wild for the Human Nature music of Motown. That music never makes the casino background either.

And the worst music is that pumped in radio music played in pools, like Binions where the same old whinny stuff is interrupted with shouted advertisements announcing the new free hot dog with a Walmarts visit. It is hard in those places to swim and let the mind wander. But the attendant told me there were no choices although I was the only swimmer that morning.

Or take the music in the Rio pool area. They want to create a sense of Brazil, so they play this awful drum music from two sources and neither source or sound is coordinated with the other. All the choices in Brazilian sounds and they can only find one style and have arranged to make that into discordant cacaphony! I asked the fellows working in the middle of that if they had to endure it everyday and all day long. The shook their sad heads.

So much variety in music now and the technology to deliver it, and so little real attention to anything of value.

I guess I did hear some oldies at the Four Queens, but generally while playing full pay VP, I just hear the yelling at the craps table and that creates its own ambiance.
I am going to bring earplugs next trip to Vegas to allow better concentration everywhere.

Flamingo party pit area (or whatever it is called) blasts music on occasion and certain songs sound great...Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash, Rehab by Amy Winehouse and pretty much anything by Ohio Players, among others. Also I heard Social Distortion "Prison Bound" piped into the general casino area and they get points for that.

.. that rocks, i'd like to hear some korn ..but the below is +100

.. dewey ..can always count on your posts to contain more substance than the left nostril of kate moss ..

. i dig the jazz stuff and yes sadly no motown sounds can be heard in any places of note ..

. .. i'll be at the wynn next week and shall take in the music for sure, mentioning ph, yea they place cool music too ..due to my upcoming date at the bellagio, i'll cross the street and play a bit ..cosmo never got my attention, however i will pay a visit i suppose ..

. . ..sometimes i wear my tiny little apple pod loaded with stuff from the waterlilies to midnight oil ..i am a musick freakkkk ..

.though i sometimes like the sounds of loud slots and people screaming louder and with more passion than barbarella and her 3 "wise men" ..depends on my mood, which tends to swing wildly up and down in tsunami-like spikes ..

    .
    .
..can't wait to arrive at my giant gold erection in the sky called Mandalay Bay this thurs ..give my many selves an excuse to mingle with the outsiders ..yes, i got laid off last week and feel like bigfoot kicked me right in the testicles ..then offered me some beef jerky .. wish me luck in hitting some jackpots because searching for new digs after 9 years is tough .. made my head spin faster than linda blair's did back in the day .. time to get hammered and hypnotized by the huge neon city of despair .. with my luck lately, i'll get served non-wet water and wake up with a shoeprint embedded into my forehead .. the optimist i am ..

    ..

    . ...$$

    . ..cheers
