Just got my Bellagio comped suite for New Year's - its a lakeview, so ill be facing the strip so I can see the action. Should I try and walk outside or just stay in the casino / room? Have never stayed in that area on new years eve.

    Thanks

If they are comping a suite on NYE you will probably be invited to the party.
If you are, that is where you should be.If you are not invited check with your host in early Dec.
NYE parties are some of the nicest events of the year at the casinos.
They will probably give you a route to walk outside at 11:50 pm to see the firworks.
Whatever you do,avoid walking on the strip!

    Hmmm...
If you have not been ON THE STRIP at least once at New Years, you are missing one unique experience. Then again, if you hate hanging with a few million $hitfaced peopple, then skip that part.

Though being in the suite is nice, you are restricted on our view, and the vibe. I would at least consider going outside at midnight with the Bellagio only crowd.

just to let you know, even if they've put you in for a suite and a lakeview at that, there's definitely no guarantees for NYE. everybody wants a lakeview suite for NYE and the bigger players get them. lots of players are bumped from lakeview to non-lakeview and lots more players are bumped out of a suite completely. the week before NYE, the suite committee will meet and look at all the players and go down in order of level of play and assign the suites and those that don't make the cut get bumped. it happens all the time where guys with 100-500k CLs are bumped into small suites instead of villas/huge suites because the level is that much higher for NYE. then the 50-100k players get bumped to non-lakeview and if you're below that, you can end up in a regular room even though on any other weekend you'd have a lakeview Penthouse suite.

even if you make the suite committee cut, it's still possible to get bumped up until the time you actually check in (and this does happen) where a big player calls up at the last minute and decides to come and everybody gets bumped down to make room for him. it's the ultimate example of whose dick is bigger.

:kill: Shifter is absolutely correct.....I'm in a Loft right now for NYE at Hotel32 my host calls me and just wan'ts to let me know that I could get bumped down into a suite or even a studio at Hotel32. She stated she doesn't think that I will get bumped out of Hotel32 down to a regular floor at Monte Carlo. All this with a substantial CL and front money. All rooms at Hotel32 for NYE have to get approved by a VP at the Monte Carlo according to my host.

NYE is a busy time and all the BIG players come out for it, therefore normally where I would be a big (notice the non-caps) player on a regular day at Hotel32/Monte Carlo for NYE all bets of off.....

    Hope you Kill it brother.

And remember, 'All hail the power of the medallion' (LOL). Bring it, wear it, live it!

I say do the vip party if you get the invite. Otherwise, if you're with your lady, skip the crowded strip and check out the fireworks from the room. Last choice would be on the strip with the lady, but I hate crowds for long periods. Top of the World at midnight would be bitchen too. They have packages if you search online. I wonder if you could get a midnight helicopter tour?

By the way, nice avatar . . .

For people who just book a room online for NYE. Do they get bumped too? I.e. if I book a lakefront Bellagio room, could I get bumped from it? If so, what happens when those bumps ripple, all the way down? Do people end up without a room at all?

no, the bumping only applies to suites. the regular rooms are not really part of the process as a) they're not really anything special and b) there are a ton of them. if you book a room retail, you should get what you booked.
