Same questions as my TI thread... Anyone have any experiences with them? Are they generous with the comps? Do they have Bac? Whats the atmosphere like? Is the food good? What are the best 2 bedrooom suites? Pool atmosphere?
I'm headed there in just a few! It's no secret of my love for the Hard Rock, but I've learned that the property is rarely discussed on this board and when it is, it's usually in a negative manner. As far as comps... their new Backstage Pass program works GREAT for me, because I'm not a huge gambler, but a frequent (50-60 nights a year) visitor. The points accumulated for slots, VP, BJ, etc. I suppose are similar to other properties, but they also provide 10X points for every $1 spent on the property. That means I can spend a couple hours on VP and earn 400-500 points or buy a $40 t-shirt in the gift shop and get 400. The Hard Rock has a lot of people who spend incredible amounts in the clubs, pool-area, etc, but for whatever reason don't drop a lot on gambling. The casino tends to be quieter than most other places, unless there's a big event at The Joint (their concert venue). They've just opened a new food joint called Culinary Drop-out. It's a gastro-pub... which is slang for fancy bar food, but the food is outstanding. HRH also has Pink Taco, which is ALWAYS busy and Mr. Lucky's 24/7, which is diner fare. They have an upscale restaurant 35 Steaks and Martini's which is spendy, but very, very good. My feeling is that it may be a bit over-priced for the HRH's main clientel which, SURPRISE skews younger. A chinese place is being constructed where Johnnie Smalls once was... always lots of remodeling and investment into the property, which I like to see. I've stayed at almost every property in Las Vegas over the years and decided a couple years ago to concentrate my stay/play here. They treat me very well and I love the energy the place exudes. It's lively and fun, but not for everyone. Since I'm there so much for business puposes, I like being off-strip to get in and out and around town quickly... or should I say quicker than if I was on the strip. The pool atmosphere IMHO is second to none (I also like Encore Beach Club), but again... during the summer it's often loud and rowdy, but never boring and NEVER absent incredibly eye-candy! Cosmo and MGM (Wet Republic) have the other "high-attraction" pool party areas which draw a lot of attention as well. They have some 2 bedroom suites on the top-floor of the HRH Tower, but they're expensive! $1,500-$3,000 a night. They also have a few in the older Casino Tower, which have recently been re-done and have french-doors that open outward to the pool area. Not sure what those go for.
If you go, don't miss the steak and shrimp gamblers ($7.77) special at Lucky's. It's not as good as the special at Ellis Island, but definitely worth it if you are in the area.
i was just there to see a show, there have moved the high limit bj kinda back to where it used to be,downsized the poker to around 5 tables on the casino floor. added a new music club called vinyl. half the casino was closed as the place was empty.i was told its been like that for a while. i guess on the weekend you still get the jersey shore db's there but otherwise pretty empty. thats my 2 cents
