For all nine of my Vegas trips I've been picked up at the airport by MGM limos.

This trip I'm staying at Cosmo and it just dawned on me that this coming Friday night I arrive at 9:20pm and haven't a clue on the quickest way to get to Cosmo.

I don't want to pony up the $60 for a limo, and I just read a post saying the taxi line can be very long...45 minutes long which would really cut ito the night's gambling and drinking time.

Any hints on a way to quickly get to Cosmo? Are there shuttles?

    Thanks!

There are shuttles right outside of baggage claim. Cost is about $7 to Cosmo. Takes about 5 to 10 minutes for the shuttle to fill up and get going. Travel time will be longer than a cab because the shuttle will be stopping at other hotels before it gets to Cosmo.

Thanks, I'll take that into consideration.

why don't you ask Cosmo to send a limo for you? if MGM has been sending them, i'd figure Cosmo would do the same.

Strangely, I have arrived on Friday nights when the taxi line was not too long, so I would at least stick your head out there and check.

As for the shuttles, that can be fast or slow, just depending on your luck. Sometimes I have hopped on one immediately and it took off. other times, I have sat waiting for 20 minutes for it to fill up before the driver left the airport. Then, it depends on what route the driver is following and in what order the driver drops off passengers. Sometimes I have been in the shuttle for less than 15 minutes. Other times, I have been in it for 45 minutes. It really is a matter of luck with those

The taxi lines are never that long...

Now, I don't doubt that some people will think they are that long, but thats just from their own perception after getting off a long flight, walking through a giant airport, waiting around for luggage, etc. All that time just blurs together and then when they have a "long" wait for the taxi of maybe 10-15 minutes they combine all that time together and just put it on the cab line.

Also, you are arriving at 9:20PM. Usually when there is talk of a big long cab line its at the peak times in the afternoon when there is a jet landing at the airport almost every 70 seconds... by 9PM its often pretty quiet at the airport.

I thought of that. But my trip is booked through Benz Gaming, not thru Cosmo, and I got some up front comps from them and don't want to push it on a limo. I'm on a bit of a budget this trip as I'm also going 3 nights over Halloween to Aria.

Good to know the lines may be less at that time in the evening. Thanks!!!

I have heard and don't know if it's true, that if you have a bellhop (is that even what you call the luggage guys at the airport?) bring your luggage out, you cut in line to the front.

    Have fun!

always push it. the worst they are going to do is say no, but it never hurts to ask! especially for something like a limo that doesn't really cost them anything.

You're right. I'll send a request. The worst they can do is say "No".

For sure, I would do the cab thing. Why wait around for the shuttle, and deal with multiple stops? All to save maybe $5-$10?

Cab for us (unless hotel sends us a limo)

    Yeah, this.

Shuttles to the strip aren't worth it.
