Not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes anyway. Do strip casinos allow early check in, and if so how early and is there a fee? Thanks.......

At least at the MGM properties, it's fine to ask, and they'll check you in if there are rooms available. I've checked in to Bellagio and Mirage as early as 9am, and never paid any sort of fee.

I've read reports of CET properties charging for check-in before 4:00 PM. I can also confirm that there was a sign at the IP in August that a fee would be charged.

Normally (not always) CET props will waive the fee for card members. So if you do not have your Trip Rewards card yet, stop at the TR desk first & get that. It may help. After that it seems to be on the whim of the desk clerk. Some are a bit more 'all-rule' than others.

I would normally just check my bag at bell services & then go play, eat, etc. However, one trip where I had been up since 2 a.m., I would have happily paid up to around $25 to get to my room early (I think CETs is lower if they do charge you). I really needed a nap!!! (One of those trips where the early bird flight was SO much cheaper - even paying $25 would have come out way ahead vs paying for a later flight).

I've checked in early at many hotels on the strip and have never been charged a fee. BUT there have been several reports of people being charged, so....

I would just ask.. I mean unless it's super busy what are the chances a 5,000 room hotel doesn't have one for you? But in Vegas it seems to be a "thing" to line up at check-in time so maybe not? Can't say I've tried it, we usually just go to lunch or something then check in.

Wow - 50 trips to Vegas and you have not checked in early?!

Anyway, policy and reality are two different things. They will quote 3 or 4 pm checkin all day long. But, if they have rooms, and your checkin person got a little in the last week, you can get your room.

Some here have done 8 or 9am many times.

I have had the same experience as No Stress, many times I have checked in mid-morning. However, I always offer to wait if a free upgrade is available.

Two weeks ago I checked in at about 9:45am at the Imperial Palace and they charged me $20.00. That same thing has happened to me at the IP the last three times I have checked in early. I gave them my TR card. It did not mean anything.
I don't know if they do that to everybody, but they sure do it to me.

    Here's what I've found my last few trips as far as early check-in;

    Always - Luxor, NYNY, MGM
    Sometimes - Mandalay Bay
    Never - THEHotel

I checked in at Bally's twice this year on Sunday between noon and 2 PM. I used the $20 trick for an upgrade. No problem and no early check in fee.

I don't know if it's bad timing or what, but I've never gotten an early check-in at THEHotel. We usually fly in about 11. By the time we get luggage and car, stop by a liquor store, we get to the front desk about noon. We get our keys, check into the mLife desk, say hi to a couple people, and have lunch. We'll usually get the call for our room number around 3ish.

Kinda seems like that's our routine now since we've been mostly staying at THEHotel lately

Most likely the timing thing, we always get the earliest flight possible so we can visit our friends radio show at Mandalay Bay sports book so we are there by 9 usually before that. Hell who knows you may actually be getting better rooms than us by having to wait LOL.

In the past MGM has always let me check in early.

Last week, Vdara let me "check-in" and said my room would be ready in 2 hours and they would call me...well needless to say I went back 5 hours later when they hadn't called.

End of August we checked into The Flamingo at 9am, no problems. I mentioned to the check-in clerk that I was concerned, he said no problem for "Rewards Members" he said check in was noon for TR members. :)

We did leave our bags with the bell desk until noon for a room on the 25th floor.. It was still being cleaned - but that was cool with us. We grabbed lunch..

At 4PM, the line was about 20 people deep... :blah:

My husband and my dad got to check into their room at Aria last month at 10 in the morning! however when we stayed at Aria in Feb, they were having some huge convention so we had to wait. Never been able to check in early at the Mirage...was able to check in early at Bellagio once tho. It totally depends upon what is open and available.

Checked into Ballys at 8:45 am 2 weeks ago, got the NT upgrade no cost or $20 trick. Same thing occurred in April and last November.
