I usually check the seat map on the hotel's website. If I can find what I want I buy it.
If not I call like Gregrio suggested.
He is the Show Guru here!
I avoid Vegas.com and others like it.
Travelzoo usually has specific specials but not always what you are looking for.

'Nittany1' brings up the most important point...look at the seating chart.
Get to know the various sections and prices.
For 'most' Shows, choosing a mid room centerish tic work great.

As I mentions above, when I use a discounter, I like BEST OF VEGAS.
Reason...when you complete your transaction, you'll know your SEC/ROW/SEAT.
The other sites don't give you that...only a confirmation voucher which you
must take to your Show's box office and...THEN, you find out where you're sitting.

'ranchette'...what Show(s) are you interested in?

I also ran across a site on eBay called Vegasforlocals.
Locals actually has nothing to do with it.
I have purchased tickets from them a few times and saved a lot of $.
They are mostly second tier shows(you wont find "O" or Ka on there)but you may find great deal for other shows.I have seen all the "A" shows in town multiple times and sometimes just look to fill in a night.
They currently have two tickets for Absinthe up at around $32.
They often use an auction format which is fine if you are comfortable with it.
And as Greg said above, you get a voucher and your seating is assigned on arrival.I'm OK with that if I'm getting tickets for a low,low cost.

I've purchased through all on GREGRIO's list with the exception of Best of Vegas. I've had good experiences with those three, though, as others have mentioned, if seat location is important to you, you may want to go another route. For me, it depends on the timing. If I think that we are going on a slower show night, I'm okay with rolling the dice on seat assignment as well as same day show ticket purchase.

We are getting ready to buy tickets to Absinthe for our trip in November. I've never purchased through Best of Vegas and, looking at reviews, was a bit concerned so I'm glad to see that GREGRIO has had good experiences with them. At this moment, they seem to have the best price for assigned seats. In our case, there are six in our group this time around and we are going to a Saturday show so, I'd rather lock us in with assigned seats.

First I check Travelzoo and Goldstar to see if any of the shows I want are at a discount. Then I'll google for promo codes. If not just check the hotels website. Nearly every show should have some sort of discount. Unless it's brand new.

If you're looking for Cirque tickets and have an iPhone then it's worth downloading the free Cirque app. I've gotten a couple good deals on tickets direct through the app.

Nubia11,I've seen Absinthe twice and the seats are not assigned.
You line up at the door and grab your seats when it opens.I think they have some kind of VIP offer where you get to line up first but in my opinion ,not worht it.
Small venue and most seats are fine.

That's the way it used to be, now all seats are assigned (as in, you're given a specific seat row+number when you pick up your ticket or at the time of reservation if you do it online).

Interesting change and probably a better way to work the seating.
    I stand corrected.

I checked out this eBay site after reading this and got two Absinthe tickets for $100.00 total (not each) with seats assigned section 1, row D, seats 9&10. There were a few other offerings I may go back and bid on but you are right, nothing top tier when I looked.

I was looking for LaReve and just saw that travelzoo has an offer of $99.00.
    Thanks for your replies.
