I was not at all impressed with this app. I had such high hopes for the convenience, but I've had lots of issues.

It borders on impossible to use quickly as it takes forever to load. It is clunky and boxy and the delay between touching the screen and response very often makes you try to tap again... Then you go to a screen you don't want and don't know how to get back without logging in and starting over.

But most importantly, they graded FOUR bets wrong, and I am getting a run-around trying to get it corrected. More details when I an not using my phone, but my guess is that the baseball over/under was not set properly and I feel I will get screwed.

I don't know if I will get to the Tropicana to straighten it out, and I am not happy.

Just out of curiosity, how does this work? You load money onto the account while in Vegas, and then you can bet on your phone with the app any time, any place? Even when you're back home?

It can not be used outside of Nevada. Sometimes these machines can only be used on the property.

You need to make a deposit in person at a Cantor sportsbook in Nevada (I used the Tropicana). You sign a couple of forms, they take a photo of your ID and player's card and turn you loose on the world. One good thing is that if you deposit $200 or more, they add a $20 match play to your account.

Part of the problem is that although the app is only allowed to be used in Nevada (cell towers ping your location) there is no demo mode to allow you to get used to the phone in advance. The first time you are seeing the app is while in that first casino once you've made your deposit.

In Cantor casinos, they have touch-screen monitors at every desk in the sportsbook, and in theory they work exactly the same as the phone app. Whether using the touch screen stations or your phone, you make your bets, totals are calculated, etc., etc., and when you cash out you either go to the place you set up your account to cash out, or send a letter and request a cashier's check.

Specific to my situation about the bets being graded wrong... just another negative against this app.

Apparently I was betting the over/under of the First 5 Innings, not the game. Long story short, there is nothing on the app that SAYS you are betting the First 5 (or Last 4), but "I should have known the line wouldn't be five runs" (as the Floor Super at the Trop told me). The prop bets also have a four-digit code instead of a three-digit code.

Two problems with that... when placing a bet to a teller at a sportsbook, you announce your code (instead of saying "I want $20 on the Yankees", you find the code on the board and say "$20 on 541". But it is irrelevant on the phone app as you tap the screen with the bet you want to make, so I didn't even notice the four-digit code. The other problem is that whether I noticed it or not, nothing on the screen (or even the confirmation screen) SAID that they were prop bets. The supervisor of the sportsbook was completely nonplussed about my issue (and to re-iterate, unless I knew these were prop bets, how the hell could I know they were props? I thought they really were the final lines) and said that ultimately, I am responsible for the bets I make.

That may be true, but this truly horribly produced and executed app did me no favors whatsoever. Granted, I could have won them all, and maybe I wouldn't feel so crappy about it. But this is Vegas. Fortune never smiles like that.

3 weeks ago I loaded it on both my IPhone and IPad, though it can only be used on one-(1) device at a time and it does detect location, so MUST be within Nevada. I opened the account at, you guessed it, Hard Rock.

We've placed bets from our home outside Lake Tahoe without issue, except most of the bets have been losers, but that's not their problem. The "experience" is NOT as smooth as today's technology should allow (bit clunky).

I'm going to open an account at William Hill as well and compare odds before betting. Hill has a much greater presence up here in the north.

I found it a LOT clunky. Just very slow to respond and difficult to navigate.

I have already deleted it off my phone. I will be going to Reno in May and will probably give William Hill a try.
