Just returned from a wonderful split stay at NYNY and Bellagio.

We only decided to stay at NYNY because of a deal they were offering. I wasn't expecting much as I had heard bad things about NYNY. I was pleasantly surprised.

Our host met us at check-in and ensured the rooming situation was correct... very professional. She booked us in a Penthouse Suite with a Players Suite Connector. When we arrived at our room, it turned out we had the entire floor to ourselves. The rooms were beautiful, very spacious, and definitely comparable to a Bellagio Penthouse Suite.

When we went downstairs to play the floormen were more than accommodating. They opened Midi-Bac, and allowed us to order and eat food right at the table. Our host even stopped by while we were playing and comped some top shelf liquor which we wanted to try.

I can honestly say we were treated like royalty at NYNY and that was just with some low level black action.

By comparison when we stayed over at Bellagio we were just another number...

I wanted to share this positive experience about NYNY because I don't think it gets enough credit on these boards.

I'm staying at NYNY next month - first time. How did you like the casino there?

I've played there on a few trips but nothing more than a few minutes.

It was a good atmosphere. They seemed to have a very good selection of video poker and slots. Just be cautious of their 6:5 BJ pits they have. Do not play those games!

I love playing VP at the bartops in that circular bar in the center of NYNY. The screens seem new and very finger friendly, and the paytables get better if you switch to $1 or $5.

I have been going exclusively for 10 years. I love the place and my Host. I am Noir and can play/stay elsewhere but wont. Nice kudos for a great place.

There are only 2 things I don't like about NYNY. First, a lot of the aisles between the restaurants and shops are very narrow and I don't like people touching me.

Second, I swear they have the most hookers per capita of any vegas hotel I've ever been in. Maybe that's part of the NY theme :wink2:

I just got back from 2 nights in a Penthouse suite at NYNY. I must really be blind because I never notice the hookers. Or maybe I'm too buzzed or too focused on slotting to notice the slutting?!

He said he don't like anyone touching him. I assume that especially means herpes ridden hookers. :nono:

Aren't those rooms cool?! You get off the elevator and your room is the only room. We have stayed in the Carlyle, Drake, and one other. Most have 3 balconies on each side of the hotel side you have a view of EVERYTHING. Which one did you have?

We always find everyone so nice and friendly at NYNY. Our host, about 7 years, is always awesome. Our prior host at NYNY for 5yrs was also good, but I was not :grrr: The dealers are great. The pit bosses used to be much better. Now, a few good ones remain.

In 15 years, and 63 stays, of going to NYNY I have been approached by hookers 2x. Once in the old high stakes room. After several hours of drinking and gambling heavily, I walked out to the main floor to take a break. There, I was approached by a gorgeous women who wanted to know if I would like some company. I said sure and she came back in to gamble with me. After about 30 minutes, she went to go to the bathroom and John ( a pit boss still there today) asked me if I knew it was a hooker. I said no (I was too drunk to know), she came back, got dismissed, got pissed, threw a fit, and off she went. 2nd time was my birthday in 2005. My wife went to bed early and suggested I try and get as many hookers as possible to sign their names on me. Well, I knew just about everyone who worked at the casino back then and it was a great time having all the dealers, pitbosses, CW's, etc hooking me up for signatures. That was a fun night! So, 2x is 15 years.

We actually get treated pretty well at Bellagio (next month's stay) by our host. Aria gives us great up front offers and our host is a party girl ghost. Glad you enjoyed NYNY, it's been our home since the day they opened.

My upcoming trip will be my fourth straight stay at NYNY. I really like the proximity of everything - room to elevator to casino, restaurants, strip access, etc.

Those suites sound nice. We stayed there once in the Marquis Suite. What a joke. Oversized basic room with very small bath. Loved our stay there other than the room, would go again if we could get a GREAT suite.

We are offered suites at the better properties often. Maybe we should try NYNY again. What is the name of the GREAT suites there?

This video is terrible, but gives you an idea of the Penthouse suites. I believe this is The Carlyle. Others are Drake and Plaza. They are really quite big and nice. Not as nice as the B, but bigger with more space.

cant get a link to post :( But, it's the 3:02 video when you google search "penthouse suites nyny"

The Marquis suite is exactly as you state, nothing more than a large room with a 4 person tub. Players suite is the same with a split room, picture an "O" with a line in the middle. Zig suite is the first real suite-very nice, but tight. The actual Penthouse suites at NYNY are Way bigger than the 2 Br Penthouse suites at Aria, but once again not as nice in furnishings. I have only stayed in The B 1Br suites. Once again, nicer, but smaller. Definitely not 3 balconies in any of these.

Thanks for posting. The trick for posting utube videos is to use the little YOUTUBE icon to the far right when posting.

Well,I just tried it and screwed it up.

Glad to hear you were treated so well at NYNY - I think this is an excellent example of something I was just touching on in a post in another thread - the idea that sometimes, it's better to go the "bigger fish smaller pond" route.

I think a lot of people would be surprised how much further their action will go and the increased host attention they'll get if they move their play from one of the "top-tier" places to some of the "mid-tier" properties - you get the best of both worlds - you're treated like royalty at NYNY, but you still have access to the restaurants at all the other MGM properties to spend your express comps on or even charge back to your room and have charged off.

re: charge back and get comped. Maybe, maybe not by host. Fine with express comps though.

And I may be over reacting to their presence, because I was there without my wife one trip and got propositioned 3 times in 2 days, which has never happened on any other trip. Usually I'm with my wife, though, so it may just be coincidence that I was at NYNY on that particular trip.

As for going with it...I have many vices, but cheating on my wife isn't one of them. A guy has to have his lines.

But, as my sister in law said once: "You can read the menu, but just don't order anything"

True. But in Vegas, the menu is so big and there's so much amateur talent, there's no reason to single out the pros.

Glad to hear that your stay at NYNY was a great experience. We have stayed there a half dozen times but are now looking for a new homestead. We aren't high rollers, but do throw down a decent amount of dough. I have always felt like a number there, nothing special. We play some table games at NYNY, but unfortunately they DO NOT have a poker room. Alas, I have to go somewhere else and give them my money. And about the most hookers, you are dead right! Sometimes, when NYNY still had the little water creek feature and the rocks around it, my father in law would sit on a rock for hours and count hookers:evillaugh

    Don't miss Gallagher's Steak House at NYNY.....superb!
