I'm sure most of you know this guy who calls himself the "slot guru"....he was on TLC not too long ago featured in a show about people who live off of winning sweepstakes, contests, slots etc... His winnings are impressive. Photos on his website show wins on $1-$100 machines and he talks about KARMA and how he believes that is what has brought him to be blessed.

What do you think? I certainly believe in karma but do you think he's really doing as well as he states or do you think he's making his living more off of the people who are buying his books?

Do you believe in positive thinking and visualization? Some people believe that's how you can MAKE good things happen. I don't know...I've visualized myself winning the Lions Share machine in Vegas and it hasn't happened yet....maybe in a coupe weeks it will be my time!

I believe in Karma - but not the slot kind. If you try to be kind you get a little in return, but certainly not win the lottery! Lots of people who win big say "ohhhh I felt I would win!". I feel I will win many of times and only win a very slight amount of those instances. If those theories are true every lottery winner would be someone on leave from mission work in Africa.

That being said, when I'm tired or cranky I tend to lose. If I am having a good time I tend to win. It is a matter of what came first, the win or the good mood. Gambling is a gamble. If you enjoy it and play within your limits you are always a winner....whether you leave with a nice time on a free room or free drink or with a bit a cash in your pocket

If this stuff was true or people had psychic ability Las Vegas couldn't exist. I call BS.

Think about it - if he truly had a winning system, why doesn't he just keep re-investing it into slots? Why tell anyone else how he does it? Won't that just make the casinos change the games?

It's just like 6-9 years ago with all those Real Estate Gurus selling their systems -- if they worked so great, why don't they keep it their secret and pour all their money into making more money? Why sell their "system"?

Both cases, they're making money by selling the illusion to others.

Remember the old man that won the Powerball TWICE? He had the worst stuff go on in his life after winning. Grand daughter was murdered, he was robbed numerous times. It was almost like he won just to be punished for something. I guess that could fall under bad karma???

Wow I never heard about that. Poor guy.

Interesting responses....I know no religion talk here but I do believe in bless and you shall be blessed. It's just that blessings can come in any form...non-monetary. In Vegas tho I'm sure that a positive attitude can't hurt! ;)

this guy has been discussed on another board- I feel there must be some sort of scam going on, he wins way too much and passes out money at the casino where he wins. If I remember correctly he only goes to the one casino. Casino Marketing ?

I agree lol. Remember that Vegas was built on losers. Everyone who has done something nice will not win no matter how hard they tried.

Sounds a bit like a neighbor.
They are always winning with scratch off lottery tickets.
Contently telling about all their wins being $50, $100....

    Could this be true? Sure!!!

The missing piece is just how much money was actually spent to achieve all these wins.

Yeah I live in a really small town and a guy here hit a $17K win on a scratch ticket. I bet he is still a quarter of the way to what he is down. Scratch tickets are a funny animal- the losses are here and there so it doesn't sting as much as losing a couple hundred at say a poker table.
