    My Trip Report

Just returned from a 9 day trip to Vegas - and, instead of a full report, I'm just going to list some observations and comments.......

    DOWNTOWN'S OBSERVATIONS AND COMMENTS:

The D is looking better and better - they finally turned the noise level down on the first floor. The escalator is being built on the outside and all the Fitzgerald's logo is just about gone!

Binion's and 4Queens - not nearly as busy as Fremont or Golden Nugget...I don't really understand it.

Las Vegas Club - looks as though it's being tossed to the side - when you walk from the hotel lobby to the casino - it's just plain spooky. On the upside, the machines seemed to be incredibly loose! Looser than any other slots in any of the other downtown casinos! I thought that was so odd - a dying casino gets loose at the end???

    Strip -

We visited a lot of Strip casinos - Paris, Cesar's, MGM, Bellagio, Excaliber, Mandalay Bay, Planet Hollywood, and on and on.

Planet Hollywood - went to the buffet. I believe it was $30 a piece? If it weren't for the huge cupcake display (tons of cupcakes), it would have been a total rip off! I was not impressed with this buffet at all - except for the cupcakes.

Cesar's - Bachannel Buffet - if you do anything at all on your next trip - you HAVE to go to this buffet. A little price-y - $39 w/o the card and $36 with the card - but well worth it! Even the two hour wait in line - totally worth it! The food was CRAZY good and the display of the food was beautiful! We liked it so much that we went back two days later!!!

    OFF STRIP -

We stayed at Boulder Station - still my favorite casino. We visited Eastside Cannery, Sam's Town, Arizona Charlie's, Gold Coast, Rio, Palms, and Sunset Station.

Not too many comments in this area - typical off strip casino type action.

    MOUNT CHARLESTON -

We drove up to Mt Charleston again - so beautiful and scenic! Unreal!

I've made up my mind - when I retire in 6 years, I'm moving to Mt Charleston. I checked the liitle homes - they start at around $99,000 - perfect for me and my 3 kitties. And, the beauty of it is - much cooler than Vegas and only 30 minutes away!!! How perfect is that??

    WINS -

Not too many wins this time - and no big wins. The wins - $200 to $300 - occurred at MGM, Las Vegas Club, and Fremont. Oh well, next time...

    AIRFARE and CAR RENTAL -

SWA is the way to go - those attendants are so friendly and cheerful - we even had one attendant put on some shade with sideburns - looking like Elvis!!

Alamo - first time I arrived where they didn't have the kiosks working. Maybe it was too slow that night??? Still a pretty fast process!

That's the trip in a nutshell! Next trip is in March - I'm starting to plan already!!! LOL!!

Thanks for sharing. I keep hearing good things about that Caesars buffet. I'll have to try to get to it next time.

Did this seem to you like an isolated incident or permanent? I think many of us who rent from Alamo do it because of the kiosks.

Poker, we are about eight to ten away from retirement and I have never given any thought to Mt. Charleston but may start giving it some attention. Thanks
