Can someone tell me approximately how many Rewards credits are equal to one Tier credit?

Or put another way, about how much coin in slots would I need to play to earn 25 Tier credits?

For playing slots at a CET property, it takes $5 coin-in to earn one tier credit, as well as one reward credit. So, to earn 25 tier credits, you will need to cycle $125 through the slots. Credits at a video poker machine require twice as much coin-in to earn the same points / credits.

Tier credits are only for keeping score regarding to whether you are a gold member, or a platinum, or diamond, or a 7-star member. That score resets to zero each year, while your reward credits keep building, as long as you earn at least 1 point every 6 months.

If the tier credits are most important and they're the ones that expire, what good are the reward credits? How do they help me?

The main reason for my original question is that my local casino is offering a free buffet for "playing a half hour". However, the fine print says that you must earn 25 tier credits. I play one to five cents at a time. No way would I cycle $125 in a half hour.

Does the ad actually say you need to earn 25 Tier Credits within 30 minutes?

And you can't really underestimate penny slots: at 30 cents per spin it only takes 416 spins to cycle $125 through the slot machines... most people play at 700-800 spins per hour so that is only a little over half an hours worth of play.

Otherwise, just to elaborate on the above:

You earn 1 Tier Credit for each $5 played through

You earn 1 Reward Credit each time you earn a Tier Credit

You can earn bonus Reward Credits as you play (things like duration and what game you are playing) which is why you will have more Reward Credits than you have Tier Credits.

Tier Credits are used only to determine your tier within the loyalty program and what perks you are entitled to.

Reward Credits you can spend at stores and restaurants, as well as on hotel bills, where 1 Reward Credit = 1 penny. So if you have 3500 Rewards Credits, as an example, that would be $35 you can spend on just about anything.

Tier Credits are always reset to 0 on January 1st. Reward Credits expire after 6 months of inactivity.

For me RCs are more important. RCs are the comps you earned and can be used for dining, hotel rooms, show tickets, etc. Just move the decimal point over 2 spots. For example if you have 8,888 RCs, it means you have $88.88 in comps that you can use for whatever.

As Buddha said, tier credits are used to determine whether you are gold, platinum, diamond, 7 stars. Each of these tiers gets you certain perks.

Regarding your play for half hour to get a free buffet question, it's probably just average. The 25 tier credits is the number you need to hit to get the free buffet. It might just take longer or shorter for certain players.

It's similar to the play half hour to get free parking promo. It only took me about 15 minutes to get my free parking one time. I played $.25 VP. If you play live poker, it takes 1 hr at the table.

I ate their lunch buffet once. I thought it was just average. I'm glad it was free. It was not worth the $14 charge. Havent been for dinner and probably won't either. Heard it was just ok and did NOT have crab legs. For $24 or whatever they charge, they should have crab legs imo.

Good luck down there. I try to get there about once a month.

Is your $$ risk worth the reward? That's a question you'll have to ask yourself.

Actually, we tried the buffet for both breakfast and lunch and were very pleased with it.

I should have known it would be too good to be true to play a penny machine for a half hour and earn a free buffet.

I've been to the Horseshoe twice and recently spent three nights on the strip playing at CET hotels and STILL only have 82 tier credits and 240 reward credits! They add up sooo slowly.

240 Reward Credits is worth $2.40.

With 82 tier credits, you only need 10,908 more to reach Diamond level.

Also, depending on your game, wager, and length of play you earn bonus reward credits. Think of it as earning at an accelerated rate. However, the equation for these bonus credits is not made public.

    Horseshoe Cleveland buffet

We were at Horseshoe Cleveland last weekend and ate at the buffet on Sunday night. If you get 25 tier credits(you must have 25 points I believe-not time) you get the buffet free. Since we were gambling anyway we found it a great value especially the dinner buffet which is $23.99 each. The food was good including prime rib and huge cleaned cocktail shrimp(the highlight for me).
