Back in May I played the $1 Top Dollar ($3/spin) at NYNY was very profitable.
Tried the $5 ($15/spin) and it always drained my bankroll and never hit the bonus.

Just got back from PH. Played the $1 Top Dollar machine and rarely hit the bonus.
On the final morning, while my wife was paying off the marker I played the $5 Top Dollar machine. After about 8 spins I finally hit the bonus.

The first offer was 15 Credits. I am thinking WTF. On a $15/spin the offer is only 15, but I forgot its $5 per credit so it is really $75.
This is my first bonus on the $5 machine and there is no way I am taking this offer.
The 2nd offer was again 15 credits.....No way. Third offer is 20 credits.
Better but still was not interested.

    Fourth and final offer....the 5 lights up......the 20 lights up.....the 100 lights up!!!!!!!:beer::beer::beer::beer:

Cashed out with a nice win.

So how much did you win? My husband and I always throw in $100.00 each and play a $5.00 machine-only in Vegas. The most we ever won was $850.00. We were very happy with that because we are mostly .25 or 1.00 vp players.

Awesome. We all love wins like that, but did you end up putting it all back in? We usually do.

Not this time. I cashed out as soon as I hit.

You say 'After about 8 spins you finally hit the bonus.

I play some lower denomination slots and don't see bonuses after 20+ spins.
Do the bonuses come more frequent with the higher denomination?

Back in May I dumped a LOT of cash in the $5 machine and never hit the bonus. Then I tried it again on this past trip.

The reference to "finally" was based on all the play done back in May.

As long as you didn't put in over $500 this past May, your still ahead. Like most of us, your probably down over all for your visits there. I would guess I'm down $50,000+ in mine. And maybe that is all I am willing to remember.

That was why it was a bit frustrating in May, because I probably did put in close to $500 without hitting the bonus.

Yeah, I am down overall, but way up in the amount of fun I have.

That's awesome! I've never played the $5 but have played the $1....won $250 on it from the bonus. I didn't take either of the first few offers either. Maybe if I get ahead this trip I will take the plunge and try the $5 one!
