Seems as though casinos have gone from dealers dressed in tuxedo's.... to suits... to nice outfits... to a little skin... to pussycats... to black bra and garters now at Golden Gate.

Is topless next? Is there any reason casino's could not make this as their next move?

I'm not real clear on the law(s) about this, but I think there's some difficulty in allowing workers to be topless in a venue where gambling machines exist.
I know some local's strip clubs (and, more recently, Glitter Gulch) have been able to have bartop VP, but I'm not sure exactly how they're able to do it in terms of getting permits etc.

There was a casino that either tried doing it or really did have them. It was a long time ago AND when topless wasn't near as common as it is today. If I remember right it wasn't one of the strip or downtown properties.

If they do try it, I'll have to do some research for the board for sure. . . :evillaugh

That would be a noble thing to do. What dedication! New meaning to "doubling down" or "going bust"!

Our closest friends have been going there since the early sixties, and have told us about this. I really didn't believe them till I read it in several other places. But nothing suprises me in Vegas, lol.

In the early days of AC, the Playboy Casino had very sexy dealers in skimpy outfits. As a card counter I found myself counting by 2's! Needless to say I stopped playing there. And the casino did not fare as well as they expected but probably for many other reasons.

It sounds like a good idea, till you remember that the casinos will feel compelled to further haircut the odds of the games being played. So instead of 6:5 BJ, maybe with topless we will see the introduction of 1:2 BJ -- where the player loses money every time he gets a BJ. And the casino will get away with it, b/c people will still play just to see some boobies!

Boobies cost money, always have always will. But..... if an owner was to.... lets' say standard 3-2 DD BJ, wow I think would pack them in.

To the person who said there's some sort of law about boobs and table games, I feel like the Glitter Gultch strip club on Fremont had a blackjack table my one visit there maybe seven years ago.

I don't know if the dealer was topless or not, or if it was a normal dealer surrounded by strippers on stage. That place is terrible and I didn't wait around long enough to find out.

Of course, there's weird "grandfathering" rules, so perhaps they were grandfathered in if there is a law.

I remember reading a story last year about one of the strip clubs creating a "pool club scene" attached to its club, and there was speculation if the strip clubs were going to compete with casinos' forms of entertainment, then the casinos would likely consider adding strip clubs to compete back. If I recall, the story also noted one of the casinos in Atlantic City or elsewhere was already constructing a strip club attached to its complex. I feel like it was one of the Trump casinos there (or former Trump properties ... I'm not sure which he actually owns at this point).

Interestingly, the Silver Nugget's owner was Major Riddle who knew all about promoting business with boobs. He was a co-owner of the Dunes Hotel and had been initially responsible for staging Minsky's Follies which was Las Vegas' first topless show. Later he brought Casino de Paris, a much more extravagant topless stage revue, to the Dunes. That show ran for more than 20 years.

It would a novelty thats for sure. Would love to see it. I heard they had it like that years ago.

I hate to say it but what casinos should do is to start catering to the female audience some more and have topless male dealers. That way they would not have to worry about kids walking through.

Women are responsible for the spending so why not cater to that demopgraphic?

They could have a special area of beefcake dealers and have decent table limits, keep in fairly exclusive and there will be a line of people waiting to give the casino money.

There are plenty of bikini girls for the guys but really women dont get catered to like the men do.

If that would work there would be female equivalents to Hooters, Tilted Kilts and strip clubs all over the country.

It would work easier in vegas because the audeince is already there. you dont have to go out and find them as agressively as you would in other places.

Plus look at the other "new" ideas coming out of vegas.

the same thing they did in 1966? thats hardly a fresh idea.
