My mom and I are taking my sister (the newbie) to Vegas and we are both Diamond with Total Rewards so we have access to a few shows for free (unless they discontinue this again).

    These include:

Harrah's: Defending the Caveman, The Improv, Legends in Concert, Mac King

IP: Jeff Civillico, Divas, Human Nature

    Flamingo: Nathan Burton, Vinnie Favorito

    Bally's: Jubilee

    Paris: Anthony Cools, Empire Comedy

    Rio: Penn & Teller

Assuming this information is correct, does anyone know if any of these shows include magic, and which ones are any good? I know we don't want to see Penn & Teller but other than that, we're flexible. I'd love your feedback and opinions.

Thanks so much, leave in six days!
    Liz

Nathan Burton and Mac King are the only other magic acts on your list. Both would be decent shows to see. I'd try to see Human Nature, as it is a classic-Vegas style of show, and a nice way to set the tone for a first visit. It's all Motown song-and-dance with a hip cool vibe and lots of energy that you'll be talking about for a long time afterwards.

I saw Jubilee and Human Nature.

Jubilee is a nice show, but Human Nature is a GREAT Show with live music and handsome men - fantastic Motown Music Show!

    I suggest Human Nature !

Thanks Sunshine and Sam and I agree, Human Nature is awesome! Once my sister leaves and we can resume a less frantic/more normal Vegas pace, I'm taking my mom to see them. It's Vegas' best kept secret, but with them appearing on DWTS last season, not for long...
No, my sister's only 3 requests were a magic show, rides at The STRAT , and going to see the circus acts at Circus Circus...I know, but she's family:rolleyes2:

So out of Mac King and Nathan Burton, is one better than the other? Is either an afternoon show?

Thanks so much for the help!!!

Both are afternoon shows. I've only seen Nathan Burton, but went back a second time. Pretty standard stuff, on a medium-sized scale, with fun guest entertainers like Russ Merlin and Jeff Civillico. They are hysterical, and I enjoyed them more than Nathan Burton himself. Worth seeing.

Mac King is the better show by far!

I've seen all three of the magic shows on your list -- Mac King, Nathan Burton, and Penn & Teller. By far, Mac King was the best magician. He had a wide variety of different tricks and he pulled them off quite well with a sense of humor. (I still break out laughing thinking about his cloak of invisibility).

Nathan Burton's collection of tricks were all too similar. He would disappear into some box/oven/contraption on stage and then reappear somewhere else. Same trick, different device.

Penn & Teller have a unique niche in magic. Overall their show is entertaining but it seems like it is less about the tricks more about their uniqueness (Teller doesn't talk during the performance). I would definitely go see Mac King and Penn & Teller again. Nathan Burton is a one and done show for me.

Yeah, I guess I'd have to agree on MAC KING also...he's such a pro.
It's a no-frills type of Show. No big Vegas WOW!...just a great family
showman, great gags, good for kids and families.

Penn & Teller are my favorites...but they're not for everybody.
Again, not the Vegas WOW of lights and flash (there is a bit of fire, lol)
Penn will tell ya at the top of the Show to see Copperfield if ya want
that sort of thing AND...don't know if it's the right pick for someone whos
entertained by the Circus Circus bunch. ENJOY MAC KING and sit as close
    to center front as possible.
