Hi folks. I would have just added another post to the following thread, but it is about 8 months old and has since been closed:
    https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72631&highlight=el+cortez

The thread highlighted the tribulations of a few of us board members who had their comps seemingly downgraded at the El Co. People who used to get comp rooms and food credit were discovering they had been downgraded to casino rate rooms.
For the past three quarters or so, I was one of these folks. Then tonight I noticed El Co had posted my next quarter's (October-December) offers on the "My El Cortez" website. I seem to have been "upgraded" to three comp nights, and $25 in free play and food.
Hopefully other folks who were previously downgraded are receiving this offer (or something even better) as well? Maybe El Cortez has realized they shouldn't have forgotten us?
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts if you were one of those who was "affected" in the past.

For me, the free play part of this offer makes it even better than offers I have been recently receiving from downtown Boyd properties (same amount of comp nights, $5 less on food, no free play). I love Boyd and have no plans to stop playing at Boyd properties, but this new El Co offer will certainly bring me back to El Co.

The last offer I saw (a few weeks ago) was the same insulting casino rate offer. Mrs. Flusher still gets 3 nights comped offers.

We haven't stayed at the ElCo since they started stiffing me on offers.

I recently received the best offer I ever have 3 nights free, $50 food and $50 free play. I'll be there in a couple weeks, will report back anything interesting.

We were downgraded also. We stayed at El Cortez for the first time last April. We visit the casino every trip & have received decent offers for a long time. We were comped three of our four nights there (4th night was very cheap), had $40 free play (plus $50 for my birthday) and $50 for food. Even had a fruit/candy basket in the room. Our offers for our October trip = casino rate and $15.00 free play. BOO!!!

One comment, they give better deals in the summer when it's slow, for obvious reasons.

They do their marketing in 2 month batches. You will get a newsletter mailed to you every 2 months with current offers, calendar of events, coupons, changes, etc.

They like players who play there often, if you play a decent amount the next month you should get a mailing for free rooms and free play (usually 2 nights, $25 free play, and sometimes $25 food depending on time of year). If you gamble more it will go to $50 free play. If you hit and run on them they do not like it. If you only go once or twice a year, they don't like it. If you go monthly or every other month, they like it. They are also implementing a "tiered" club, Emeral, Ruby, Saphire and diamond with tiered benefits.
PS My mom went over the weekend to get her $50 free play, hit Aces w/Kicker for $524 on it.

Despite the insult of being dropped, I gave the El Cor one solid day of play on each of my last two trips staying at Four Queens. When we were Lady Luck players, one day at El Cor was all it took to get on the good list. Four Queens did not take notice of the loss, El Cor did not take notice of the gain, same insulting casino rate offer that costs more than Travelocity. Loyalty is a two-way street, looking forward to Four Queens next month.

Me too. I haven't been there since March, and I only ran 20 bucks through a slot and used comp dollars for a meal.

However, when I went to try and book via the website, room rates show up as just a casino rate discount rather than actual COMP rooms. I guess I'll have to call.

We went to El Cortez in November last year with an Expedia deal for $149 including taxes and they offered a $150 Visa Card... so it was free. We played there, not much but I guess enough.

About a week after we returned we received a letter from their Casino host. He offered 3 free nights immediately to return. We ended up going again in early April and received 3 free nights, $50 F&B and $50 SLOT PLAY, plus they were nice enough to honor my birthday $50 play that expired in march. Super nice. I felt we played a lot more this time then last time but I could be wrong. The alcohol made things fuzzy LOL. The offers I received for SUMMER was 3 nights/25/25 and the FALL is 3 nights 25/25 again and we booked it for October.

The offers are decent, being that we are not high rollers. As long as I receive free nights I will always stay there or at least allow my relatives to stay if we stay elsewhere. I do plan on playing their often.

Ill share a store. I took my daughters baby picture that I use at work and it's my favorite picture. It is in a frame that played her voice telling my "Happy Fathers Day Daddy" Best gift ever! Well I left it behind like an idiot and I Freaked when I got home! I called the Casino and emailed them. The Casino Manager immediately responded and said they found the picture and would send it to me. They over nighted it to me and didn't charge me a penny. That kind of customer service is the reason I return.

A friend recently asked about staying more than 7 nights and was told she would have to put $13,000 through the machine in a week to be granted that privelege.

I also got the better offer. I am booked for Nov. --Thur 8th----Mon 12th. The 2 extra nites they quoted me $39.50 per nite. Depending on play-maybe less. I asked about a ride to the airport---they said to be sure to sign up when I check in. I'm first staying at MSS comped Mon 5th--Wed 7th. I also got the D for 3 nites but 1 move is enough & the free ride is nice. I can hardly wait---I've been going to Vegas for over 40 years ---seen lots of changes but still love it. Downtown is my place.: Bettyj41

Betty: I used to end my stay at El Cortez for the free ride to the airport. It leaves 5 or 6 times in the morning on the hour and only holds three persons (four if you're friendly). It fills up fast, but I find if I call about five days prior to my arrival at a time when the desk is not likely to be busy and ask nicely to be put in the airport ride book, they usually accomodate me. If the call doesn't work, definitely walk down there before your check-in day and again, ask nicely when the desk is slow.

I've received three nights free /25/25 for the last two years. Had $50 dining and $40 slot play one time before that. From the October-November casino newsletter, "Four times a year we send you the Break Letters giving you up to three complimentary nights, $75.00 in food and
beverage credit and $75.00 in free slot play." So it looks like 75/75 is the maximum.

But one good thing they are implementing ... price match guarantee for hotel rooms. Supposed to work with their online reservation system now, but there's no word about it on their website nor is there instructions on how to claim the guarantee in the newsletter.
