    My Trip Report

I fully expected to write a trip report but not live.

Good news is we all boarded out of CMH early. Even better good news is the plane had 6 empty seats and I wrangled one of them between us.

But the bad news is a light came on in the cockpit saying some fuel transfer gizmo was malfunctioning. Now I certainly want the fuel to transfer so we sit.

I'm worn out from my (probably not so subtle) antics to appear that the middle seat was occupied. I'm sure I fooled no one but for now it's open. The irony will be we'll probably have to change planes.

On a gambling note I'm 2-0 playing my wife in high card. Life is good. Come on mechanic fix that light and let me salvage my poor mans first class.

Ahh...sitting on the tarmac in Columbus...been there done that. Who are you flying out of CMH? You layover in Chicago, Denver, Dallas?

So we are delayed enough they're letting us off the plane if we want. Of course now I have to fret that someone will come back and want my extra seat. Damn these safety regulations.

This empty seat is overriding not gambling. All my energy is going into saving it. Yes I do have a problem. :)

Ah, the old "casually making it look like the middle seat is occupied" game on Southwest. I like to get involved in an in-depth conversation with the person in the aisle seat if I'm in the window...a conversation where we're both leaning into the middle seat and gesturing wildly with our hands...who would want to sit between that?!?

Actually, I avoid SWA for Vegas flights anymore...they're just too crowded from everywhere no matter the route.

When I fly Southwest I ask at the gate how full the flight is. If is short of full I break out Kleenex, cough drops & juice and then I cough, sniffle & look miserable (unless I get the exit row and then I play fair). This usually works, but I am considering wearing a hospital mask next time for added impact :) I am always miraculously cured when the door shuts and everyone is settled.

I love the idea of the mask! I might try this next trip but the trouble is that most SWA Milwaukee to Las are usually full.

You can fly SWA direct from CMH, and avoid the layover!!

Try the VERY LAST ROW of the plane. If there are only one or two seats open on the entire flight, they are usually in the last row.

Yea but...Then you are next to the shi*tter and constantly end up with asses in your face as they wait in line.:nono:
Forgot to book boarding passes one time leaving Vegas :drunk: and we ended with C boarding in the very last row--never again!
People coming home from Vegas leave a lot of stinky deposits.:wink2:

Same thing happened to me. I got stuck in the last row between a very large father and son. THey both immediately began to apoligize for the half-seat I was given. It was the longest flight ever, its loud in the back of the plane so sleeping was impossible.

The last row doesn't recline either.

Funny how many Columbus people are on this board. I'm one of them and will fully report after my October trip.

OP I hope you are well into your Vegas fun.

    Really Chris? LMAO!

The plane can be half empty and I usually get someone taking the middle seat. A couple trips ago a man sat in it and there was a aisle seat available nearby, <sigh>. Thankfully it's only a hour and 10 minute flight for me to Vegas.

Well we finally made it out of CMH and into LV. We were supposed to leave Sat morn @ 8:10--sounds like some of you know that flight--arrive around 9:30. But after about an hour they had us deplane & switch gates. Mercifully anarchy didn't overtake the flight & I got my middle seat! I never looked so hard through my briefcase acting like I was deep in thought rifling through for some lost paper.

Anyway we made it in about 3 hours later than planned--probably saved some money.

Got all my associates checked in (about 18 on this trip & I'm in charge).
    Now it's "me" time! :)

More to come later but so far nothing of consequence.

Thanks all and I will write up a full report upon my return.
