CET: Does it really matter where I play?

Sorry if this comes off as a dumb question.

I'm going to give CET all my play when I'm there in two weeks (with the exception of going to MGM to win the Lions Share). Now from an offers stand point does it really matter at which property I play at or can I spread it around a few and not really affect any potential offers? I know offers are all based on ADT but does where you concentrate play come into affect? I realise if I do all my play at CP but still have a lower ADT I'm not going to be sent offers for free rooms there but could for lower end properties. I just want to know if I need to grind it out at one place or can I spread the wealth?

Again sorry for the dumb question and I know it's probably already been discussed before but thanks in advance!

 

Yes, I have found in Vegas they kinda assign you a home property and most specialized offers come from that property. For example you might get the general marketing offer for 3 nights at Flamingo, Harrahs, Ballys, and Rio, and 4 nights at IP. But the secondary offer might favor where you play at. $15 food credit at a particular joints rest. or pool bar.

Depending on how heavy you play, you may get an invite for a special event being hosted by a property or Free Play and Rooms. I was getting them from Ballys and Flamingo. A couple of trips ago, I played heavy one day at Planet Hollywood. Now my Monthly Free Play and hotel stays are being mailed from PHo.

If you are looking to raise the level of comps, I would suggest playing at a property in line with your bankroll, Here's how I would stack rank the properties from lowest to highest.

Imperial Palace
Rio (Rio, Harrahs, Ballys, and Flamingo are generally in the same tier for room comps)
Harrahs
Ballys
Flamingo
Paris
Planet Hollywood
Caesars Palace

 

My experience is that calender rates don't care where you play. Those seem to be corporate offers.

You may end up getting better offers from a single casino if you play there a lot though. This is also the only way I've ever seen a freeplay offer. I spread my play around a lot(maybe 30% actually at the casinos I stay at) and my offers have remained the same for a few years now.


If you play enough to get a host, then playing at their property sounds like it may be better. I don't think it is required, but they may be able to give you more if you focus your play at their property.

 

Thanks guys. That's what I figured but just wanted some clarification. I'm not chasing comps or anything but I just wanted to make sure I didn't do anything that could affect potential offers. I don't gamble enough to need a host so that's not an issue.

 

I have adopted the view, that I play where I win. So certain properties I tend to favor in Vegas. This tends to be Ballys and Harrahs where if I had any amount of self discipline I could always eek out a winning trip.

Flamingo, PHo, Paris, and Caesars have much nicer rooms but I consistently walk away a loser at these properties. Racking up 800 to 1500 tier credits at any of these properties per day, should ensure you see some decent marketing offers.

Forget the Tier levels anymore, outside of buffet line cuts and cashier cage, your better off trying to get a good ADT for shorter play then chasing status,

 

just to add some detail to what others have said ... it is my understanding that each CET property does calculate an ADT based solely on your play at that casino during a given "trip," and that trip is based only on the play at that one property during the day(s) you're there. if you play just 10 minutes at Flamingo, that's going to be the basis of your Flamingo ADT going forward. if you're not interested in Flamingo for future trips, no big deal. if you want to qualify for special promotions from, say, Planet Hollywood in the future, your best chance of getting on the radar at PH is to devote a significant amount of time and bankroll in a given day at PH. that Flamingo play won't help ... or hurt your standing with PH.

that said, CET also markets to players based on overall tier status. and you'll be earning those tier points no matter where you play. those 10 minutes at Flamingo will count toward the tier. so, if your goal is to get the best possible offers from a particular property, it's generally better to concentrate your play there. if your goal is simply to get some offers at any CET property in Vegas, then bouncing from casino to casino shouldn't be a problem.

in my experience, by the way, most CET tier offers and the ones tied to individual properties are not terribly different (mostly it'll be special events like slot tournaments, plus some occasional show tickets). the CET room offers always seem about the same to me unless you book through a host.

one more thought: the room comps at CET for those who bounce around are definitely better than what you'd get for similar play at mLife, which is more likely to expect you to play where you stay.
