Possible switch from Aria to Caesars - questions?

We are booked at Aria (going beginning of Nov) our total with resort fee is around 815. I had been juggling between staying at CP or Aria for awhile. I just checked CP and their rates will now be about 100 less for our stay. I have only stayed at MGM so really have nothing else to compare to other than personal opinions from others. However, based on room videos and pictures it looks like CP has a bigger room and then with a possibility of a view of fountains - that makes me want to switch even more.

So questions - if I book an Augustus room - how can I gurantee myself a fountain view or that with corner suite?

With CET do I have any chance of comps, etc?

Also what is the daily hold at CP?

Personally, I think Aria blows Caesars away.

In terms of comps, it would help to know what you play. You should earn something. Caesars uses the total rewards program and you can self-comp by using your TR card at Caesars restaurants, bars, etc

 

What is the blowing away part about Aria?

Also we usually just play slots, video poker, video BJ....

 

Better rooms, better food (although Caesars does have more casual options), better vibe, better spa, better gaming rules, and less likely to get totally turned around and lost!

 

I totally get turned around and lost trying to navigate through citycenter!

 

Is that 100 dollar difference including resort fees? If so, I would pick Aria without question.

 

Damn...can't remember what I read...okay has resort fee. Aria then, it's just nicer and newer.

 

Caesars was nice 20 years ago. These days I find their casino almost dumpy compared to high end Strip properties. There is no playable VP at CP for dollars or quarters.

Aria is an easy pick for me here.

 

I thought Aria I guess for me seemed pricey. No moderate food choices for breakfast or lunch. I am ok with a higher priced dinner, but none of their restaurants interested me.

I guess 2nd was the room would not have a view of anything and its smaller than CP Augustus room.

But again like I said - we never made it in to City center our first trip. I guess the closest we came was Cosmo, but not sure if thats part of City Center....

From what I have read the whole Aria and city center seems like it lacks the cheesy vegas vibe which normally i hate that stuff but when I was in MGM I really felt like I was in VEGAS just had that feel. When I went into Cosmo - well heck yeah its super nice but lost the vegas feel and felt more metro NYC or LA.

 

Comps will obviously depend on what and how much you play. At low levels you'll just have whatever you earn in TR credits.

But you might get free rooms at CET props in the future. Thats a much lower bar.

 

My advice is don't chase comps....if your wallet says you need more moderate priced restaurants and you want to switch to Caesar's then do it. You could always stay at Aria and eat at other locations. Do what you are comfortable with and don't take yourself our of your money comfort zone just to chase comps.

Yes ARIA in my opinion is nicer that Caesar's just from an atmosphere, restaurants, gaming and nicer dealers....but you may like Caesar's.

thats probably Aria's biggest drawback. Its nice but getting there the first time is a pain.

 

If you stay at Aria you are only a 5 minute walk (indoors) to many lower priced dining options at Monte Carlo.

 

I remember the same feeling the first time I went there. I think it is better now, at least in part because they have made Chrystals much easier to navigate

 

What is the question? That question taken literally would be a hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars... and why would that matter?

 

Aria is easily worth $100 more for the trip.
In terms of navigation,CP is the toughest property to navigate on the Strip for first timers.

 

Honestly...if I "had to" stay at CP, I'd just cancel the trip and go to a local casino. That's how much I dislike their casino but that's just me.

You have passage to Bellagio and MC from Aria so that makes it a pretty nice location in my mind....if you want to casino hop that is.

The Aria is connected to the Monte Carlo which has several low cost 24 hour food places. McD's, subway and others.
It does however have a lesser Vegas feel or at least not cheesy.

 

Aria without question...I could play craps and stop for a club sandwich at Skybox just about every day haha. I'm sure youll be happy with either with both being in close proximity. I stayed in the August tower and loved the room.

 

The entry level room at CP versus the entry level room at Aria is like comparing a Super 8 to a Four Seasons.

The standard room at Aria is amazing....you will not be disappointed.

IMO, the only thing that CP has over Aria is low-cost food options. However, that problem is easily solved by walking through the Street of Dreams from Aria to Monte Carlo and eating at the foodcourt.

This is a no-brainer to me (Aria), but others may disagree.
