how highly would you rate this hotel?

to me on the reviews it is up and down
seems very romantic

 

Having stayed at a few of the places on the strip now with about 5 stays at Venetian and Palazzo, we like the rooms, and the restaurants, walking through the mall with the canals, as well as the location, not far to Mirage, Wynn, Flamingo, and such. The standard room called a Luxury room were better we feel than most other places standard rooms, but cost a little more on average if you are paying for them. Each has a sleeping area and a one step down living room by the window. The Bathrooms contained a separate shower and tub, in the base room, and I believe, I may be mistaken, double sink vanity, (this may have been in a higher level room the couple times we upgraded, I cannot remember).

We are planning on staying there this December again after trying The Hotel, Bellagio, and Mirage, the last several Trips. Bellagio is a similar rated room in my mind.

No matter what hotel you are looking at...throw out the highest and lowest reviews, keep to the average and you will have a good idea about any property. It is more expensive than any of the hotels I stay at. I would love to stay there, their rooms are junior suites...I love pics of their living room area. Is every room in the hotel spotless, of course not...no hotel is. Some reviewers are uber picky and some are expecting perfection for the price they paid. It is by no means a bad choice. Only reason I can't get the hubby to stay there is he hates their slot selection. As far as the standard hotel room goes, it would be my #1 choice IF I wanted to spend that much money and IF the hubby would stay there. I wouldn't compare it to Bellagio as the previous poster did. Property wise yes, but room itself is much bigger with more furnishings.

 

It's very nice! It's huge! So much to do and see. I think you could stay there, and never leave, for days. Never eat at the same restaurant, or see all the shopping. I haven't stayed there in a several years, so I would go with the rooms are probably a little worn out right now. But, they are huge, it's a 5 star property, honestly, I don't think you can go wrong.

BUT, there are other, newer, 5 star properties that might give you a run for the money, considering Venetian generally stays the same price point all the time. But you can seemingly find a good deal at most of the other ones, like Aria.

Also it not being connected to Mlife or Total Rewards is a little bit of a bummer if you gamble.

Be wary of reviews in general, some people are just so damn picky! There was a hair on the bathroom floor so ZERO STARS. Not to mention a place with nearly 7,000 rooms people going to have wildly different experiences.

 

I stayed there in August and loved it. The room was huge. The bathroom was huge. Even without a strip view the view was amazing. There were so many good restaurants to choose from and the food court was really good as well.

I've always liked the casino, even though drink service was lacking this trip. The biggest downfall for me is the resort fees. Other than that I'd definitely stay here again.

 

Venetian or Palazzo?

Palazzo...not even a question for me.

 

I prefer Palazzo. The casino is much quieter and seems much less crowded. I also like the rooms a bit more as they are newer and have a bit less wear and tear (not that there is anything wrong with Venetian’s rooms). The size and lay-out of the rooms is virtually identical.

I can see how a first timer might prefer Venetian, though. It is a much bigger property with far more stuff to see and do. Of course, the two properties are connected via a shopping area. So it isn’t like it takes much time or effort to travel from one to the other.

Both are great properties. But for the same money, I’d go with Palazzo.

 

I stayed at the Venetian with about 3 other couples for a wedding about 2 years ago. Although the hotel is very nice the service was soooooo bad I refuse to stay there again! I would not even rate this hotel since the level of service was so poor. I have since been to Vegas about 3 times staying at MGM, NYNY, and Flamingo and had better times and was treated better at all others.

 

I LOVE the Palazzo!
The rooms are huge (about 720 sq ft.) and the living room area is, as noted, a step down and has a bit of a half-wall separating it from the sleeping area. Both the bed and living area have HUGE TV's. There are also TV's in the bathroom (awesome!).

The tub and shower are separated and there are double vanity sinks. I love staying here with my wife because we're not bumping into each other and fighting over bathroom space. And if she wants to watch Housewives on Bravo I can watch Clint Eastwood movies on the other TV.

I've never had the "view" rooms, but the standards that I've had gave great views as well (either directly across from Treasure Island or overlooking the Wynn Golf course).

One of the main things I love about it is the parking. Park right by the elevators and you come up right near the tower entrance to go up to your room. None of that 5-mile walk through a bunch of junk like at Treasure Island or MGM.
