Hello fellow friends of America's playground.

I have never been to Vegas during Christmas time, so I decided to head out the week before Christmas. I am trying to decide which hotel to stay at. I would like to stay at one of the nicer hotels that has a nice Christmasy theme going on. So, out of the following hotels, which would you choose?

    Wynn
    Palazzo
    Cosmopolitan
    Aria
    Mandalay Bay

We have been there just before and just after, so it was during the Christmas Season. I really do not think anybody "has a nice Christmasy theme" going on. And, to be honest, it sort of freaks me out hearing Christmas Carols while gambling, drinking, etc.

Bellagio will of course have great decorations.

I don't think MBay had much going on last time I was there for Christmas. Just a little bit.

Bellagio has the most decorations because of the big Conservatory display. I'm assuming this happens at Wynn as well, but I haven't been there at that time of the year. Anyone been there at Christmas?

You might also browse trip reports from last Christmas to see where people were staying.

We almost always go to LV over the holidays.

Last few years, none of the Strip hotels had much of a Christmas/Holiday theme at all. Most of the music on the sound systems was just the regular mixes.

We spent a lot of time with another couple who stayed at Sam's Town and they had far more holiday stuff than did the Strip hotels.

Sam's Town is great, but the OP didn't ask for Off-Strip, plus, I'm not sure ST is "one of the nicer hotels". :haha:

Downtown has fun holiday stuff too. The canopy shows are themed. They have parades, etc.

Wynn is very nicely decorated during the season, but Palazzo has been surpassing them recently.

I thought the best decorated was Venetian/Palazzo last year. I was there early December, but I assume all of it was still up into early January at least.

Much agreed Pallazo is actually doing a great job competing with the Bellagio at Christmas time. If THEHotel changes for the worse we will probably begin to do our Christmas stay at V/P.

We usually stay at Four Seasons for our December trips. They do a nice, if understated, gingerbread display as a fundraiser for a local charity each year.

This was at the Palazzo in December, 2010. Note the snowflakes:

I agree Palazzo has really been stepping it up on the decorations for holidays lately - I actually preferred their Chinese New Year display to Bellagio's this year - plus, they did that "winter in Venice" outdoor ice skating thing last year, so if they do that again this year I would definitely go with Palazzo out of all the ones you listed.

Not much different than the pic I posted from 2010, you'd think they'd spring for different decorations.

I've gone the past 6 years, nobody gets too "Christmasy" that I can recall Palazzo might do it best.

    This was Aria last year.

Regardless, great time to go! Great deal, and heads up on Christmas Eve it starts to get really crowded.

Yeah, I usually go in Dec--I would say Bellagio, Palazzo, Wynn in that order do the best in terms of Christmas decorations.

    Christmas In Vegas

I go to Vegas one weekend a month. For Christmas, I have seen every casino. Bellagio is the best. Also, travel to the Ethel M Chocolate Factory to see their Festival of Lights....Desert style
