    Hey All,

I thought I'd ask here before I called the El Co and asked them.

My wife and I are planning a Vegas trip, but this time flying to Vegas, not driving. We'd like to stay downtown and walk around...nothing to see on the Strip this trip, just stay downtown.

So, we've never asked anyone at the El Co, but I'm sure they don't offer laundry service....since we're flying and don't want to overpack are we just out of luck??

If they do offer it...great. If they don't, would it hurt to ask the Hotel Concierge what they could do? I HATE to wash clothes on vacation, and want to know what you all do in a case like this. Are there any local(phone book) laundries that would pickup and deliver?

I know Golden Nugget probably offers laundry service, but what do the other-down town-casino hotels offer.

    Thanks!!

    Cohiba

I thought they had coin-op laundry machines.

I think i remember someone saying there is a coin op laundry machine somewhere. I would call them and ask about that.

You could always wander east towards the old Western and find someone to do your laundry in the El Co's coin-op laundry facility if you didn't want to do it yourself. I'm not sure I'd want those folks touching my underwear though. :faint:

The Nugget does have traditional hotel-based laundry service. It's traditionally expensive :confused2: I also don't think you can use the service without being a guest of the hotel.

Laundry service is typically found in residential areas. It might be a bit of a walk, but I'm sure you can find something in the greater downtown Vegas area. Or you could eat the 2 hours and do it yourself.

Ducky, are you saying that the el co has a coin op laundry facility? or just that there is one nearby?

I remember that the Plaza had a laundry facility a few years ago. Not sure if it is still there after the renovations though, probably best to check with them first.

My apologies - that was horribly phrased on my part. There's one near by. Busy Bee on Stewart is probably your best shot.

Hey thanks for the info Ducky. Didn't know there was one close by.

Funny, I went to their web site, they say that they are within walking distance to the El Cortez, Cal, MSS, GN and Plaza. Sure, easy to walk from the Plaza with your dirty laundry, lol.

I will probably use the place on my trip next month (going to san fran and vegas).

I broke down and called El Cortez, they do not have coin op laundry machines. Another option, if you have time and a rental (sorry Cohiba I know you will be walking) is Magic Was on Decatur and Charleston. They do fluff-n-fold at a far cheaper rate than the hotels charge. We have used them a couple of times, nice people and they do a good job with the laundry.
