My friend asked if I could play some of his free plays when I go to Atlantic City next week. He has the free play voucher in hand and he wants to give me his player's card. Is this illegal? Is this a problem? What if I hit a jackpot?

Its not illegal but against the rules of the casino. My suggestion would be play his freeplay on a machine with a high percentage of payout but a low opportunity for a jackpot (VP is probably best option) and once freeplay is played you can cash out and stop using their card. If your friend has $100 in FP, you will have to play $100 and cash out whatever you win off of that, then use your own card in case you hit a jackpot.

The biggest issue you might face is if you have to cash in the voucher either at the casino cage or the Total Rewards booth.

If its just a REELRewards voucher you can insert then this won't be a problem, but I've received some by mail in the past where I had to get it validated first and in that case you need to provide photo ID.

When you say your friend has a free voucher in hand, I'm assuming it's just the offer from the casino. I don't know about AC but in Vegas we've always had to take the voucher to the promotion desk where we show our driver's license (or other id) and then the free play is loaded onto our player's card.

On second thought, on our last trip it was already on our card, so maybe you can get away with using it.

At some casinos, CET will send a voucher. You just insert into the machine, after putting your card in as well. Then you just play away.

Couple of reasons NOT to use it.

1 - Host might come up and say Hello Mr Smith, let me know if there is anything I can do for you. He would probably need to be Diamond for this to happen.

2 - You hit a jackpot. As said, play machines where top payout is under $1,200 to avoid this. Even so, you can remove the card and probably not have a problem.

3 - If you only play a little, you will hurt his ADT and future offers will drop.

4 - He risks CET taking his membership away. Pretty rare I figure, but possible.

Based on past experience, you can avoid some of the issues by inserting his card. Once it takes, insert the coupon. One it registers, remove his card and play away. Since you did not PLAY on his card, he MIGHT not get hit with a visit.

So if you win while playing out his ticket are you splitting any money with him? If not what would be the point?
Like Nostresshere says the ADT getting messed up, possibly meeting up with a host. Although I've walked in to Caesars(AC) a few weeks ago with a couple $75 tickets when going to the show and not play much more. Also, if he's very familiar with his host and he comes by while you're playing, he me get a call and ask what's up.

I hit a jackpot using my dads freeplay at MGM detroit a few Christmas Eves ago. Just pulled his card out and got paid. They arent looking that close, they just want your ID and SSN as usual. No biggie.
