All based on someones experience. I played a $5 slot in Cosmo in July, first spin I hit $155 and I was done. I usually play pennies, just wanted to use their $100 matchplay if I lost.

And yet at Cosmo when I sat at one of their Red-White-Blue 7's $5 slots doing their $100 loss promotion, 10 pulls later I had succeeded in losing $100. Its a complete crap-shoot.

    Same Question

I have the same question as UCJames. I had a buddy who would record the location and serial numbers of "Good" machines and share them so others could hit them up when we were out there. He has since passed. Does anyone else document machine serial numbers? Wanna share?

Wow, I wonder how many people he pissed off when they played his machine and lost there money after searching each machine trying to match the serial number.

It was never like that. But it helped the decision making process when looking at a bank of machines and wondering which one to play. Won some lost some. But if I had luck with one I would text him the location and number and he would do the same for me. We were never in Vegas at the same time but shared the same passion for the place. I was wondering if other people did that as well.

    Here is what usually happens.....
My wife and I sit down together and play the same type of machine.
I kick ass and my wife loses her money. She gets all :grrr:
Either later that day or the next day we go play again, but this time she wants my machine and so I take hers.
Once again I kick ass and my wife loses and she gets all :cry::grrr::grrr:

Granted it isn't always like that but it does happen enough where it drives her crazy. This is why I image people looking high and low for a particular serial number only to lose their shirt and be all :grrr::grrr::grrr::grrr:

I will admit to posting replies stating we played machine X at place Y each day and won, but don't go into specifics like serial number and such.

I've found some pretty good success with the 'Pinball' machine, often located in a bank with the Top Dollar machines. It's $3 or $6 a spin but you'll usually find them on the main floor. There is no huge jackpot, so it seems to do better with smaller and more frequent payouts. Hitting the bonus game can often be worth $100 or more. I've walked away a winner I think 5 out of 6 times.

That's funny! And so true. Slots are very unpredictable. You win some you lose some.

After a long absence I went back to Vegas in 2006. That same year I learned about comps and players cards from websites like this one.
On my 3rd trip of 2006 I started playing $5 slots and the comps started pouring in. I plan on hitting the $5 Slots heavy on my next trip!

on one trip to Paris in the High Limit area, I hit three handpays in about 2 hours. Bang, bang, bang

Next two trips. zip, nada on same machines

Meanwhile, on about 4 trips in a row, I would play the $5 pinball in the middle of the floor and after about $300 dumped, hit $700-$800. Happened many many times. Like an ATM. Then go blow it elsewhere.

Next two trips, that thing was nasty to me.

    Not HL Room....

I was lucky at Mandalay Bay playing $5 Quick Hits. I came down for coffee (8:00-8:30am) the casino was empty so, I took my coffee and sat at "bank" of these machines. I had never played these so, what the heck?! About 4 (two coin) spins later.... $5,000!:woohoo::woohoo:

    $5.00 wof slot

Pumped in $350 in the $5.00 slot at the golden nugget in old town.
It gave us very little payback. 7 of us put in $50.00 each on the
    wof.
