I won't be going soon to Vegas, so when I saw the latest mailer in my box, I thought it would just be wishful thinking.
However, it was from the Orleans giving me 2 complimentary nights through April 30 and I can use them 7 days a week.
I wonder if others received this mailer.
It is amazing to me that it covers so much time and that I could grab a free weekend. My play is very little there, usually some of that triple play VP 9/7 DB with a good progressive. Nickles. I do it on senior day for the extra points and drawings or whatever and for the half priced lunch.

Being so frugal it is hard to cover the weekends. Four Queens will do one or two of them if I split my stay between two months. Now I have another covered.

A free weekend is pretty special. We have been on their two free nights list for years, takes very little action to get comped there. I just tried to book a stay this month. I could use my comp for Thursday night, but Friday was going to be $168. Thank goodness for Casino Royale, the low-roller's last friend on the strip.

I received the mailer also. It doesn't start until November and I am staying at the Orleans in October. I get my rooms comped anyway through a host but I did use it to secure a room over Super Bowl weekend already

I received the mailer. It's only the second or third time Orleans has offered us free nights, and the first that offered weekends.

Orleans has not been generous to us. We have played a lot (for us) at Orleans and generally get ignored except for the $99 slot offer anyone can get. Others who play more receive the same offer but with free room plus dining credits. However, rooms are good and cheap and games are okay if not inspirational, so we have stayed there numerous times.

We'll consider this offer if we can find a time and a good reason to make the trip.

Well mine went down a notch. BOGO night stay with $10 dining. For the last 3 years or so, it was 2 free nights with the dining credit.

I have 2 free nights + $10 food credit reserved for the last 2 days of October. The offer expires the next day. I also recently received a duplicate offer that's good through next April. I'm evidently not spending enough there these days, as the offers are only for Sun-Thur., where I used get free rooms for any night. Nuts!

I've stayed and played at both Gold Coast and Orleans and lately my Gold Coast offers have been upgraded from 24 dollar rooms to two free nights. My father and brother stayed three nights at Orleans on their first trip two years ago, gambled very little and both are getting two free nights (weekdays) with food comps.

On the other hand, two of our regular group of three got booted from El Cortez's free room list after five years, and the two of us that got the boot gave much more play than the one that stayed on. We can't figure it out, and my guess is the comps manager might not be able to either.

We received an offer for 3 nights any time through April 30, 2013 with no food. There were two black out dates of Dec 29-31 and Mar 28-31. The surprising part is we visited the Orleans for the first time for one night in May and played about 4 hours of VP. I also tried that electronics crap game.

For a PS: I stayed on a $12/night offer at GC last week, with most removed at checkout. (I was almost embarrassed to ask on such a low rate, but "forced" myself. At this point, I'd just as soon stay at the GC. The room isn't quite as nice as the Orleans, but I like their Lucky Lucky BJ side bet (the only one I play consistently) and the Noodle Exchange.

I used to only get the 2 free Sun-Thurs. But this spring they sent a 2 free any night and we will be staying there a week from Saturday. I didn't look that close at the new mailer, will have to double check. We are usually not there on weekends, but it worked out that way this time.

    Same here.

And, I just got back from using same offer last week, plus they threw in a $10 MP. Add the LVA $10 free slot play, the LVA $10 MP and the Young at Heart 2-1 buffet on Tuesday and it was a very fruitful stay.
I didn't finish in the money, but also had a lot of fun playing in their Sunday $25 buy-in BJ tourney.

I received it yesterday too. Mine includes two free nights seven days a week, and a $10.00 food credit. I have never received a mailer that includes a weekend. We will be in Vegas November 6-11, are comped for the week day nights at Flamingo and we are paying $65.00 a night for Friday and Saturday, not sure if we will move or not for the weekend........may be a good idea as it is free, and probably not as crazy at Orleans. Only issue is that if gambling is not going well, no other place to go!!

Wow! Many of us are getting these deal on small play. Nice.
For those who don't drive or rent a car, the Orleans seems a long way.

    So a couple bus suggestions.

If you don't mind a half hour walk with luggage and are staying on Flamingo, hop the 201 to Arville and then just roll on up to the Orleans. The 104 does travel up Arville, and in inclement weather I have done that, but I find I beat it by walking and the walk is perfectly safe with sidewalks.
And if you have dirty clothes to wash, the laudromat you pass on the way is easy to use.

I also sometimes start my trip at the Orleans. I take the WAX from the airport and get off at the NYNY circle. Then from the same stop I take the 201 to the Orleans. It is a safe place to sit with luggage, patrolled by cops on bikes.
To then go from the Orleans to downtown, just reverse that, taking the 202 to the stop and catching the WAX to downtown.

I can't get any deals at the Suncoast or I'd take the WAX all the way there for a couple nights and then back to downtown.

There is not any advantaged gambling at the Orleans. But if the progressives are high on 9/7 DB, the game can have a decent pay. That is the case with the triple play nickle 9/7 DB that I like.
The live poker is harder at the Orleans unless tourists dominate a table.
However, the free shuttle gets me right to Bill's and I love to play 2/4 at the Flamingo game.

Dewey: I've take the same route you mentioned on the WAX from the airport and then the 201 to the Orleans a couple times with zero problems. Last week, I took the 108 from the airport to Flamingo, and then the 202 to Gold Coast. It was easy, pretty quick, and only cost $1.50 for the 2-hour pass. Being close to midnight when Ms Gecko arrived two days later, she took a shuttle to GC, which took twice as long as the bus at several times the cost.

Two days later when we moved to Suncoast, we took a cab to NYNY, played a little VP to kill a little time, and grabbed the WAX. If not for her luggage and laptop, we would have taken the shuttle to Orleans, the 201, and then the WAX. This is probably the seventh or eighth consecutive trip we stayed at Suncoast. It's certainly out of the way, but it's our favorite.

You could take their shuttle to the Gold Coast and gamble there or walk across the street to the Palms or the other street and gamble at the Rio.

It is a very cold pool if the weather is cold, but the jacuzzi is large and nice even in those cooler months like November or April.

We got the Orleans offer this week way up here in Canada ;-)

Two free nights, Sun-WED, (no Thurs check-in) with 10 food credit...also good until next April.

So...many offers that are just a little different. We got the 2 free nights anytime offer last Fall, and used it for a Fri/Sat night, and I thought I gave them enough play, but it seems I was mistaken! LOL.
