    For what it's worth...

I haven't stayed at the Mirage but stayed at TI in 2007. The room at TI was quiet, bathroom good size, and bed VERY comfortable. Mirage has a bigger/better pool. TI is a tad further to the north than we like but there is a tram between the properties. We've eaten at both buffets for dinner. TI buffet has a much smaller, but decent tasting, selection of hot foods, but excels at desserts. Mirage buffet has a large selection of hot foods/salads, but their dessert selection is weak. We like the atmosphere/casino better at Mirage including the Beatles store and lounge and area of slots where they play Beatles music. LOVE at Mirage was fabulous!

I have stayed at both and really don't think there is too much of a comparison. Mirage wins everything hands down. I have to add though, that I have NOT stayed there since ti pulled out of MGM properties, so my info may be outdated. Plus, being Feb, you aren't going to be using the pool, so that is an important factor in me liking Mirage so much. Either way, Have fun!!

I have stayed at both hotels. TI is a decent place but I think most people accept that Mirage is a step up from TI in most or all areas.

The only advantage of TI is decent BJ at $10 and good VP (JOB) at $0.50 and up, if that is important to you. I sometimes stay at TI on a comp but, if price is not the deciding factor, it has to be Mirage.

for me there is a big difference, for several years we stayed at the ti until they pulled out of the mgm group, comps were great until then, we were very comfortable in the casino, the casino was roomy, never stayed at the mirage, the table games were of lower limit than ti, but the slot area seemed cramped, i preferred the tables at mirage my better half preferred the slots at ti, we were both more comfortable at ti, with that being said i do not think you can go wrong on either as the location is good, but down the road i think mgm group will give much better offers for return trips

TI is dated, Mirage was updated a few years ago. I'd go with Mirage. Neither are my first choices for hotels though.

Stayed at both. Mirage is better. It's not close, and it's not debatable.

    Mirage all the way.

I stayed @ TI in December 2010. The bed was comfortable, but that was it for positives.

The buffet was bad. Pit bosses were too busy to bother rating you on the main floor. Most BJ is the automatic card shufflers, or have hit on soft 17. The high limit area was the only table I could find with a shoe & stand on soft 17. The cocktail waitresses were overwhelmed, not their fault, the place was completely understaffed. They didn't serve Grey Goose on the floor. The check in is a nightmare. I did get the impression that the staff really did try, there just wasn't enough of them.

I have stayed 3 times this year @ Mirage. Rooms are recently remodeled & modern. Comfortable beds. Staff is very good. Dining is decent. Check in is easy. There is plenty of action here, as TI was very depressing & drab.

One thing to add about Mirage. I love their pillows. So much that my wife bought them for my bed at home.

But does Mirage have a small bathroom? We like a lot of counter space.

In the deluxe room, it's definitely not big. But it's not smaller than TI.

I thought TI's bathroom was a good size.

Neither stood out to me as being particularly large or particularly small.

Mirage bathrooms are definitely smaller than those at TI. Kind of feels like staying downtown!

I will, I guess, issue the one challenge to Mirage. Unlike Mirage, TI does have reasonable rates for two bathroom suites (petite) and usually very good rates for larger suites.

I like the vibe in the casino at the Mirage, but I enjoy playing at TI as well. Never set foot in TI's poker room, but have had a lot of fun and drinks in Mirage's.

As for food, sometimes I like a simple quick, cheap meal, and I can't find that at Mirage. I do like BLT Burger there and Carnegie Deli, but cheap they are not. I'm not high on the buffet at Mirage, but have enjoyed the buffet at TI. Senor Frog's at TI had some good food, but I was pretty drunk at the time, so my taste buds were probably a bit skewed :wink2:

LOVE the Mirage pool. TI's pool is OK, but drink service is really nice there.

Rooms... I like the remodel that Mirage did to their rooms a couple of years back, but the bathroom in the regular rooms always feels cramped. I would try for an upgrade to a tower deluxe room just for the bigger bathroom. TI... The rooms are nice, nothing special, but they aren't shit-holes either. Price wise, TI keeps offering up much better rates, so they tend to win out my past few trips.

Mirage's buffet is very good for brunch.
