Does anybody know of any good wine tastings around the strip or Las Vegas in general? I see there is a very cool wine walk out at Lake Las Vegas that Westie posted but it's the week before we're in town and there's another in Towne Square the day after we leave.

Ideally something where you'd walk around and sample wine and food would be what we're looking for...and although the strip would be convenient, a local atmosphere would be even nicer.

I was looking for something similar for our Labor Day trip but only found the 11/4-11/5 event at South Coast.

Mirage has a food & wine fest in October, but the reason I saw that is I know one of their restaurants has a wine tasting and couldn't remember which so I went to find out. Onda does a free wine tasting Fridays 5-7, and they also do flights of wine you can buy at any time in the bar or restaurant. I thought they might have had something else but that's all I see now.....

Thanks gang:nworthy: I forgot about the great little wine bar in Onda...not exactly what we're looking for but might go try that out. I was really looking more for an outdoor event like this one at Lake Las Vegas. If Vegas wasn't such a night club/pool party blow-out weekend on Labor Day, I'd change my dates in order to go to this. I've been looking for an excuse to go check out Lake Las Vegas anyway...Nittany, this might be just what you're looking for:

Lee's Discount Liquor has a big wine/beer/liquor tasting every year - I think in November? At the Convention Center.....

I found this on the web "vegaswinetours.com"
They start off at the M Resort. I haven't been but it sounds pretty intersting. You should be able to find some coupons for it.

What is the wine celler at Rio like? Should I try it?

I like La Cave at the Wynn for a wine flight. I like the USA flight. I thought the Chardonnay was very special. I wish I knew what it was called. I would love to buy a few bottles. I don't even drink white wine but loved it.

CinnamintStick, were the prices at Le Cave reasonable? We are going to be staying at TI for a few nights and all of us are wine (and beer) drinkers.
