Has anybody gone to Hyde earlier in the evening (like 5 or 6-8) as a place to sit and relax w/ a drink and order some appetizers while enjoying the fountains? I'm curious about the seating arrangement and if you can actually face or see the fountains? The photo I saw looks like all the couches and chairs have your back to the fountains.

    Thanks! Dino

not sure about the seating, as we never did make it inside last time. but i'm probably going to be checking it out next week before dinner.

Nice place for a pre-dinner drink. Cannot comment on the appetisers.

I think some of the seats face the fountains but, as it is hostess seating and fairly busy, there are no guarantees. If the view is crucial I would skip it.

Is it open every evening early as a lounge or just the nights it doesn't become a nightclub?

The closest vantage point to the fountains has a plexiglass wall a few feet high, and is not open-air anymore like the Fontana Bar was. I totally miss the Fontana Bar. It was such a nice low key place to enjoy drinks & the fountains. :(

When we were there in early July, you could enter at any time with no cover on nights it was not a nightclub. You could sit anywhere not already reserved. There were plenty of couches available at those times, as well. You did have to stand to get a good view of the fountains, however. We were also huge fans of Fontana but were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed Hyde. Good place to go for a drink and the wife and I found it very relaxing on those non-nightclub evenings. FYI we are both late 40's.
