    Could anyone assist on this?

Does MGM consider Aria a bigger comp or Bellagio where rooms are concerned. I ask because I managed a four day comp over the weekend in May when I went with Beejay and company on a fairly busy weekend. So for my trip on September 14 I was thinking of surprising the gf with Aria but I would obviously have to call a host as the Mlife offers are terrible (that is if I can even get into that always broken down website). I would be needing three days for that trip. I am a Platinum player.

Gf thinks we are staying at Bally's but we are in Augustus at Caesars however we always stay there and I would like to surprise her.

And if anyone had a host to recommend could you send me a message in the old VMB Inbox?

    Thanks my fellow problem gamblers!

Just my opinion, but I think they do consider Aria the top property. If I look at the e-mail I got from when I got my corporate offers, they seem to list them in the following order: Aria, Bellagio, MGM Grand, MB, Mirage, MC, NY NY, Luxor, Excalibur. Aria does list their slot hosts with e-mail addresses on their web-site.

Those two properties are probably pretty close though. My corporate offer gives me suites everywhere else, but just rooms at those 2.

Based on my offers, ability to get stuff, Aria and Bellagio are very close.

I get suite offers with fb allowance from Aria all the time. The only offers from Bellagio are rooms and freeplay. I give them both about the same amount of action.

There was a similar thread about this sometime in the past couple of days, but I believe the consensus was that Bellagio is a little better at giving comps than Aria. Whether that's becuase of room costs or how MGM ranks their properties, who knows

I can go to Mlife and there is a suite room comp and partial RFB to Aria. Never played there - Same comp offer has been there for over a year.

They may be trying to make us think Aria is a bigger comp but to me they are just trying to funnel money and play to the moneypit.

For those of you that have stayed at Bellagio on a comp, just rooms, have you had anything taken off the bill as it relates to your FB purchases upon leaving when checking with a host upon departure ? I've been offered connecting Lakeview Deluxe rooms and have been told by the host that they will look at my play when considering whether to take off FB. Any experiences out there ?

My comp offer at Bellagio is 3 nights in a 1-bedroom suite, 700 freeplay and 450 food n beverage. Offer at Aria is 3 nights corner suite, 450 freeplay and only 100 f &b. My play has been consistent across each property. About 2500 theo each trip and I usually earn about 160,000 tier credits and 300 in express comps each trip. My losses far exceed my theo. I'm not sure. I've lost 9k, 5k and won 2k on trips to Aria and Bellagio. I play mostly high limit slots or max bet on pennies. Typically 4-6 hours of play each day. Not sure what my coin in is? I'm going to ask hosts for more specifics on my play stats.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I play, $1 and above. Get things taken care of after the fact at the Cosmo but I'm going with a more refined group this time so was looking into the Bellagio. I just don't want to be stuck with a fb bill at the end that they won't help me with.

I've had good luck with getting my fb taken care of at the end of my trip at Bellagio. I have always checked out with my host who I have a good relationship with. Not sure what the results would have been if it was a host that I didn't know.

If you look at past corporate emails, the generic comp offers are pretty much identical for the two properties. Bellagio is a tiny bit worse for the lower tiers, but otherwise they're exactly the same, you can compare the offers from last year by changing the tier number at the end of this url:

    http://www.mgmresorts.com/offers/2011/01_q2_casino_newsletter/landing_tier10t.html

Of course, this is from a year ago, but I don't think things have changed a huge amount in that time.

ARIA and Bellagio are my two regular MGM properties (I also stay for a few days in Summer at M-Bay). I visit 2-3 times a year staying 2 or 3 nights back to back each at A and B. Obviously back to back to back in summer trip including the M. Based on Hosts' admission (as my RFB covered everything so far w/o any question, so no persona experience), Aria is tigher in F&B compts, and charges higher room rate for comp (it is hard to compare the rooms as they are different).
I get the same upfront freeplay offers of $5,000 from the A, B, and M but Aria and M gives me $1,500-$2,500 in Freeplay as airfare reimbursment towards the end of the trip, whereas the Bellagio gives $2,500-$4,000 in additional Freeplay upfront. Last trip in June, for the first time, the host at A stated something like $1,750/day (odd amount) on F&B is the guideline given to them to tell us but really not enforced. The host at B said, "do what ever you want to do..."

For the high limit slot players (I know it is pure random), in my nine trips past 3 years, the Bellagio high limit rooms (and the two rows of $1, $5, $10 reel and video slot machines including the wolf run right outside of the high limit) out paid A and M at the margin of almost 3:1..

I accumulate about 8-10 million tier points over 5 night trip to two properties.

Most posts are correct in that MGM is trying to place the ARIA as top property (confirmed by the higher ups in ARIA).

I think you will lots of people that had food taken off in this situation. And lots of people where they did not get anything additional taken off. Going forward, based on other postings, more will see the host tell you to use EC's for those extra expenses.

Meanwhile, if you are getting TWO rooms, you are already eating into your comp "budget" as they have to pay for both rooms. And maybe a bit higher since both are lakeview.

I have not stayed at Bellagio since Players club turned into Mlife.
Part of the reason for that is after asking a host to look at my bill at checkout I was told"your average bet is only around $350,that's nothin!"
    So I moved on.
At Aria I get Sky suites with $400-500 F+B
I know this is anecdotal but my personal comp experience has been dramatically different and better at Aria than Bellagio.

Dumb move by the host. A stay less frequently at Aria because of a similar experience with a host there

The quarterly corporate offers I receive are exactly the same at both properties.

The other property-specific offers that randomly show up differ by about the same difference as the rack rates.

I was very pro-MGM after our latest trips and getting a solid explanation of mLife. Since then I think we all know they gutted the program. I think my loyalty to MGM, and in fact my future choice to vacation in Vegas at all, will depend on MGM following their word by improving up-front offers to make up for the decrease in automatic comps.

I was also thinking the same thing, of moving from Bellagio to Aria. Despite the distance, I prefer the rooms. With the remodel of Bellagio removing so many of our bartops, and the sticky buttons at those which remain, I'm thinking Aria going forward as well. I prefer the Bellagio pool, but I like Aria as well. The quick access to Cosmo and Monte Carlo also breaks up the trek to the strip into manageable pieces.

My choice to completely eliminate CET play also fits with an Aria base of operations. A high-end run to Bellagio--Cosmo or low-end outing to Monte Carlo-NYNY is accomplished easily enough.

The one follow up question I would pose as a Corollary to your "Bigger Comp: Aria or Bellagio?" is "Smaller Penis: Gaggles or Macker?":Þ

I emailed some chick there to see what they will offer over the Gaggles Bday weekend in May and yeah you degenerate negative influence, I asked about December as well in case I can somehow make it.

When I find out what they offer I'll tell Macker's mom, and she can tell you.:wink2:
