Just recorded an episode of Haunted Collector on SciFy Channel exploring paranormal activity taking place during the renovation of Binions. Lots of cool peeks inside the old original "Apache" hotel areas, the closed down buffet, and a secret room that they can't place on any blueprints. Pure hokum nonsense, but nice to watch for the insider camera angles.
My mom swears that place is haunted. Not long after my dad passed, I took her to Vegas for the first time, and we stayed in a balcony room on one of the top floors. She woke me every 20 minutes thinking someone was in the room. Finally about 4am, I gave up and went to sit on the balcony. There was a cool thunder and lightning show going on, and pretty quick, out she came. The wind was howling, and the rattling of the balcony door got to her. She refused to stay there on later trips, opting for Las Vegas Club instead
Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea for them to do the FEAR AT BINIONS Haunted House attraction. Too bad they discontinued it last year.
I thought that was cool too. I can only imagine that a number of downtown places have unused areas in their hotels. Looks like some of those areas in binions never got renovated since apache times. Of course, every hotel no matter how new will have unuseable rooms. i wonder of giant places have unsued floors or wings. We have all heard about closed towers and the like. i would love to check them out.
I started a similar thread about unused areas awhile back, and included a link to lots of photos I've taken: https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=67851&highlight=catacombs Photos: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2214234361079.2130532.1404176376&type=3&l=617b90755 More photos: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.4198392683797.2173727.1404176376&type=3&l=06d0f42f33
