We have a trip planned for Sept to Las Vegas. We have never stayed at the 4 Queens. Does anyone know where the taxi drop off is at the 4 Queens? Is it a front entrance what street would that be, or is it a side street? What are some of the good points about the 4 Queens and what are some of the bad points about the place?
    Thanks:

I cannot help you about the taxi (we rented a car when we stayed there), but I'm sure the drop off will be close to the check-in desk.

What I liked: The rooms are clean (I preferred the South Tower and it's really not that much further to walk than if you say at the North Tower...the South tower is quieter and it seems more updated), the staff is friendly, Hugo's Cellar is a great restaurant (but pricey) and I liked the Chicago Brewing Company, comps are easy, but you have to ask (ask at check out to see if they can adjust your room rate - they did for us both times).

What I did NOT Like: Magnolia's Veranda Coffee Shop - too much casino noise.

All in all, I would definitely stay there again - and I'm a Golden Nugget fan!

I like Magnolia's.... lots of variety in their menu.... 2 for 1's available, soooo cheap to eat there!

South tower is better. We had the North on our April trip and it seemed much more dated. However, it was quiet in room 707.... ice machine just a dozen steps away.

4Queens limo drop off is a small 1/2 circle drive right by registration... very close.

    Good gambling at 4Q.

The taxi will drop you off right there near the check in desk..

I like the Queens because it is right in the middle of Freemont St..

I think Magnolias is great good food and affordable..

    The staff is always friendly..

    The rooms are comfortable..

You will have a great rip..Enjoy and win big!!!

People like to point out about the size of the bathroom being small as a downside. To me, it has a tub/shower, toilet, and sink with mirror. Bam, a complete bathroom!!! Nope, it can't fit two people, but that's fine with me. Everything else about 4Q is wonderful. No complaints. Probably the best downtown hotel when it comes to the convenience/value/fun combination, with Fremont a somewhat close second.

I am staying at the 4 queens in October 3rd and 4th, first time can I request the south tower at check in? Is it the most quiet of the towers? Thanks in advance.

I was given south tower upon request. It is the quieter and closest to reservation desk, showroom and parking.

I have stayed at 4Q twice -once in 1995 and once in 2009. The rooms are fine the food is good and inexpensive ( at Magnolias) and the comps are fairlt good. But to get comps u have to play, and unless things have changed there since May of last year, the blackjack rules are the worst i have ever seen (6/5 on a SHOE for godsake, no DAS, doubling only on 10 and 11) Stay and eat there but play blackjack somewhere else unless the rules have changed

Considering reserving a room at 4Q for our upcoming trip. We will have a rental car. Is the parking garage connected or will we have to park off-site? Also is there a charge for parking?

    Thanks.

There is an attached garage with an entrance off Carson Ave. They do charge hotel guests $3/day to park, but they give you a card for unlimited in/out.

One thing about the South Tower, if you get a room on the east end of the tower facing Fremont, there can be noise from the 3rd St. stage. It's more noticeable in the hallway (coming in the fire stair door) than in the room. The music ends about midnight most nights, so unless you're an early sleeper, it won't be a problem.

They added the $3 to my room rate the last time I stayed at 4Q.

Must be a recent change--didn't have that charge when I checked out in April---have been there several times and never charged---I'll be there in October and see what happens---

Maybe the comped rooms don't get charged? Or the mood of the check-in clerk? I parked for 2 days last Oct and never got charged a nickle on my room, but it was my regular mailer comp. At check-in the lady was greatly amused by the shirt my wife had bought me about living in my own world, so maybe that was the difference, I really can't say. But definitely no parking charge for me.

Entrance for taxi drop-off, registration, and valet parking is on Third Street.

Valet parking exits onto Carson Ave.

"Front" casino entrance is on Fremont Street.

The last few times I've stayed on a 4Q comped mailer (Feb 2012, May 2012) they just hand me the yellow parking pass when I check-in. I always rent a car and haven't been charged while on a comped offer.

WARNING: The elevators tend to be slow in the 4Q parking garage!

We stayed in the South Tower facing the stage--it was VERY VERY VERY loud, we were virtually shouting a each other during performances. It ended at 1:30 Friday & 1:15 Saturday. Normally we are out later than that, but it was our last nights (and 6AM flight Sunday) & we were tired...we both had earplugs & pulled pillows over our heads. Not good.
If these are the updated rooms I'd hate to see the non-updated ones...it was 1980s Motel 6. It was clean & did have a flat screen TV. Dated doesn't bother us, we aren't in the room much.
It was comped; I'd rather pay a few bucks somewhere else.
