    My Trip Report

    Quick live trip report:

I fly standby so I jumped on a 6:45am flight Philly to Phoenix with 100 seats open. Got FC upgrade. Woo Hoo this trip is starting perfect.*

Get to Phoenix around 9. Got car setup for $150 taxes included and I can drop it off in Vegas. Another win.*

Quick backtrack for a second...yesterday morning I found out about this Great Race thing with Total Rewards. Since I work right outside AC, I figured I would get some quick points. So I went to Harrahs, got my 27 points playing Alice in Wonderland slot during lunch and actually won $60. Then my wife went down the shore early Friday with my 4 year old so I figured I'd call my friends and we hit harrahs chester(not going to EVER call it Philly). Got 100 points playing Clue but lost $70 doing it. Should have left even at 26 points but the final guess was close. Unfortunately I didn't get a single bonus.*

So I am in the car and I notice there's a harrahs about 30 miles away at Ak-Chin. Indian reservation I believe. Anyway, I figure why not. This is free time since I was supposed to take the 6pm to Vegas anyway. So I make the 60 mile round trip, get my 30 points, and actually win $160 on Clue. No bonuses but I got the wild clock spin and ended up with 7. They put them in making an L with the five-across line on the top line the the other two in the first column. Big $180 win there. Woo Hoo.*

The ride from Phoenix to Vegas sucks. It isn't like LA. It's long. It has many one-lane stretches. Took me 4 1/2 hours. Ugh.*

(side note...as I sit here at quesadillas in IP writing this the weather is saying it is going to be 94 tomorrow with 40% chance of rain and flood warnings. I hope I don't end up on the news floating down the strip)

Ok back to yesterday. Check in at Aria no problem. Question...I didn't ask for an upgrade and didn't want one. I am here alone and just want a king bed. The guy says he upgraded me to a city view. Am I supposed to tip him? *I didn't but almost felt cheap. But hey...I figure I didn't ask and I honestly rarely open my curtains when I am here alone.*

So I hit the slots, end up losing $400 on the night and then I get really hungry. Like "oh snap, I haven't eaten since that in-n-out burger at 12:30 in Phoenix" hungry. So I go upstairs to grab a panini and they are closed. Oh well...guess its the buffet. $40 but well worth it in my case. 5 plates of King Crab and a half lobster later I'm in bed comfortable numb from my drug...seafood.*

(another live side note...the seafood enchiladas at Quesidilla are delicious)

So I wake up this morning And head to Paris to play the Clue machine there. I had some luck there last time and I need the 25 points for the Great Race. Well, they don't have promotional machines. You have to go to the TR desk. But the guy didn't ask for my ID so thats good for those of you who will be switching cards and whatever else.*

After dropping another $360 in Paris I am dangerously getting low on cash. Last time I came out I brought $4000 and never went below $3900. This time? *Brought $1500 and now I'm more than halfway out. Time to slow down.*

Drove over to Venetian to check into my second room and get info on slot tourney I am in. The Venetian standard rooms are the biggest I have ever stayed in. Rio is a close second. Nobody else is really even close. This room is awesome. Aria is a nice room, but not nearly as big. Wow.*

So the tourney registration is 4-6 so I decide to check into my other room...Red Rock. As long as I keep getting rooms there they will keep sending them. So I got a one night stay there that includes 2 free buffets. They have great rooms too. Too a quick shower there then grabbed a free buffet that cost the casino $60 that I won on an interesting slot. Every spin, Tetris looking shapes would float down and if they landed on the screen those blocks would be wild. Hit a nice $90 spin on one where the shape was crazy and gave me 9000 credits. I'll take it and need it lol.*

Back to Venetian where I find the do not have the six card poker I wanted to play. Ugh that sucks. * Got times for tourney tomorrow and tues...10:30, 3:00, and then 10:30 Tuesday. Ok. Maybe I will win the $7,500.*

Now I am at Ip to play in the mixed game at 7 that I played in last time I was here in April. They moved the poker room upstairs to 3rd floor next to race and sports book. They added a couple nice bathrooms downstairs. But it's very claustrophobic down there in IP tonight. Glad I didn't stay here this trip.*

    Be back later.*

The slot tourney I am in started this morning at 10:30 for me. I got 10,200 points which was behind the 12k of the woman next to me but I didn't see a lot of 10k+ scores and the lady said mine was good. And she seemed like an expert. She stole my idea. I said the best thing that can happen is getting jackpot with a couple seconds left. What happens? She gets it!!! Lol. She is nice so I am happy for her but I want to win next round!!

I'll ask about the six card game here at palazzo since this I where the slot tourney is.

The games they spread are o/8, double flop Omaha, badugi, baduci, ace-5 hi/low, 2-7 triple draw, 4 card crazy pineapple ocean, razz, stud/8. A woman at the game said they have a mixed game at Trop tonight so I'll be going over there tonight to check it out.

I'll try to post again in a bit. Thanks for reading.

Checked into the Palazzo six card poker but I don't see it anywhere. I just played the Michael Jackson slot. Amazing game. You literally win almost the same whether you play 40 or 320. I usually play around 200. But I say down and the lady next to me was playing 40 and was up $400. She sad she bought in for $40!!!!!! Lol. So I play 80 and I turned my 100 into 230. Bonus wins the same whether you spin after playing 40 or 200. It's ridiculous. But nice. Cause you lose 5 or 6 in a row and you still have the same amount of money. And I like his music and dancing too.

Ate lunch at the noodle bar here. A little pricey but very good. Crab things and shrimp fried rice and a diet. $28 plus tip. Billed to room. Maybe they'll take it off.

Time or slot tourney. Be back later.

Can you tell me how the slot tournament works? Is it only one play and they just rank scores?

First to answer the previous posters question the tournament I am in Has three rounds and they add up your three scores to get a winner. My second machine sucked and I only got 7200 so I am probably going to be lucky to get anything.

Picked up my friend at the airport and we hit Todai. It definitely got better with more sushi roll selections and much fresher sashimi. Definitely worth the extra couple bucks. He's napping at Venetian so I headed out to see about this mixed game at Trop.

I am sitting here at Trop waiting for a seat at the mixed or cannon game. I guess there was an issue with the difference and the mangers have been on the phone with somebody for a while trying to get it straight. The way I look at it is next Monday I'll be in Philly where they only spread regular hold em so the sooner I can get onto whatever game the better. But I've been waiting an hour now and I can't wait much longer. Vegas time is getting short and I'm getting tired of sitting around.

    More to come
