I know there was a thread a few months back on MGM properties not allowing 3CP players to touch the cards. My memory was refreshed by reading a Trip Report that said Aria wasn't allowing players to touch the cards, but the Monte Carlo was.

I'm leaving for Vegas in 42 days, and staying at the NY NY. I spend a lot of time playing 3CP, and I plan on playing this year. For those of you who have been to MGM properties lately, can you give me a rundown on which casinos have gone to the 'no touch' policy for 3CP.

    Thanks!

I can only report as recently as March. NYNY tables were all that way ... they even had a table where you didn't require chips. All betting and decisions were made on a computer screen imbedded in the table. Dealer was still there to distribute cards from the shufflemaster, but win/loss decisions were made immediately after you made your play/fold decision on the screen ... computer new your cards and dealers cards ... nat a lot of skills required for the dealer. I don't know if NYNY still plays this way, but their 3CP tables were not busy back then.

When we checked out other MGM properties, (MGM, Mirage, Luxor, MB) they had NOT yet adopted this practice.

Possibly they were allowing NYNY (and Aria?) to test the waters. I am hoping that this did not spread.:nono:

thanks. I like NYNY a lot as a property and have stayed there 3 times previously. However, it is not my favorite place to gamble at. however, I do plan to play at the Monte Carlo while I'm there.

I'm anxious to see responses on other properties like Excalibur, MB and Mirage

I was at the Mirage in May and you could pick up your cards on 3CP.

I was at Monte in March and you could not touch the cards because of a cheating sting at Aria. I went again in late May early June and you COULD touch the cards then.

In April, the ARIA was dealt face-up, no touch.

    I hated it.

I like playing blind a lot, or just looking at one or two cards before deciding to play my hand. This knew method of table play just killed all the mojo and fun for me.

was there end of may, didn't make it to aria but didn't see any mgm properties doing this. was a huge concern for me also as we like to play 3 card. for myself, if that were a rule at the table, i would just take my business elsewhere.
